Last Sunday at approximately 2:00 pm (May 31, 2026), while visiting Bridge Street near Old Navy, a woman from your church approached our group after hearing us speaking French. I do not remember her name, but I do remember that she introduced us to her son, Landon (maybe 3-4 years old). She warmly invited us to attend your church, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize what a meaningful interaction that was. I am originally from Alabama and I now live and work in Dakar, Senegal. I was accompanying several visitors from Côte d’Ivoire who were in Huntsville for a week of training. Before their trip, they had researched Alabama and the American South and had many concerns based on what they had learned about our history, including slavery and the civil rights era, as well as current events they had seen in the news. Naturally, they arrived with some apprehension. This woman’s simple act of kindness, courage, and willingness to share her faith made a lasting impression on them. She demonstrated genuine warmth and hospitality toward people she had never met before. In doing so, she helped reinforce what I had been telling them all week: that while every place has its challenges and history, there are many good, caring people here. I want to thank her and thank your church for cultivating people who are not afraid to reach out to others, share their faith, and show kindness to strangers. Encounters like this reflect positively on your congregation, on Huntsville, on Alabama, and on our country as a whole. If you are able to identify the woman who was at Bridge Street with her son Landon last Sunday, I would love the opportunity to thank her personally. If not, please know that her kindness was noticed, appreciated, and remembered. I will send a separate email to the Church in case you are able to identify her and she allows me to contact her to thank her personally. Thank you for being a church that encourages people to live out their faith through genuine care for others. Saw Big Daddy Weave and friends there on the 17th. Amazing show and the members of the church were so friendly and welcoming. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Praise God 🙏🏻 Where is the praise? Its so quiet, such a large amount of people go here to check the box they went to church that week. I will always remember this church for hosting a Major League Eating contest in 2022, wasting money and resources in advertising and prize money to watch people eat over 15 lbs of food in just a few minutes. It may have been fun for many people to go and watch, but it endangered people’s lives for the sake of entertainment and made a spectacle of the name of Christ, proudly displaying gluttony underneath the cross placed on top of their church building. And the ministers there had the audacity to defend their position, answering criticism solely in the form of jokes from the pulpit. This public disgrace demands a public apology from the pulpit, but I do not expect one. Wonderful, caring pastors who aren't afraid to preach the truth, amazingly talented worship leader and great, secure children's ministry.
