My husband and I got more dirty looks than people greeting us warmly. We are traveling missionaries (and came from a "different" kind of life, so we have tattoos and piercings), and don't have "Sunday best" clothing. We believe Jesus sees the heart and not the clothing. (Thank goodness for that, too.. the lack of modesty in some of the women is shameful...One good gust of wind and the tiny fabric of "dress" would expose everything).. I'm glad I'm not a new believer, because the treatment here would make me turn away from faith. We had hoped to connect with people of peace in this city, but it seems we have to look elsewhere. That DEEPLY saddens me on Resurrection Sunday. I bet if we dig just a little bit into every person here, the majority are not snow white either. At least I'm transparent in what Jesus did for me. No church is perfect because none of us are perfect. This church is a growing and thriving church. Such an amazing group of beautifully broken people who love God and serve others. Wonderful children’s ministry, great youth group, college and young adults, along with adults 55+group. Several ladies and men’s groups to join.Something for everyone. Come find your spot. Great church with a very generous and kind congregation Good people seeking to follow God under good leadership. They love the community and glorify Jesus. Wonderful church with super nice people.
