After attending Valley Bible Church (including The Refinery) for about two months, I wanted to share my experience for others considering this church. The church has strong Bible teaching and a welcoming atmosphere. However, I was surprised to learn they hold a clear Reformed / 5-point Calvinist position on salvation (election, irresistible grace, etc.). This is not clearly stated on their “What We Believe” page. After speaking with a pastor, it became evident that while Arminians can attend and become members, they would not be permitted to lead small groups or serve in any discipleship/leadership roles. I hold a more Arminian understanding of Scripture, so this church is not a good long-term fit for me. If you are non-Reformed (especially on the doctrines of grace), you may want to clarify leadership expectations before getting deeply involved. Take this into consideration as you visit. Blessings MBC East Valley has been our home church since December 2020. Moving here from California, my husband and I wanted to find a church that doesn’t shy away from the Word. We wanted a reformed church that would hold us accountable and keep us in unison with the Word of God. The pastor here, Albert Kilgore, is kind and collected. His sermons are filled with context as he takes you through the chapters verse by verse. I cannot express how much I’ve learned in just a few short months. The church body is very kind and welcoming. Please consider this church if your heart is seeking truth and a healthy understanding of God’s word. At this church, they love God, love people, and make disciples. My family and I have been attending Mission Bible Church East Valley for a little over a year now and we are immensely blessed to call this church our home. With Bibles open, the word of God is diligently taught from the pulpit each Sunday with faithfulness. The body of believers is amazing, and their love for the Lord and for His people is evident. If you're looking for a Church to call home, I encourage you to attend Mission Bible Church East Valley! My husband and I found Mission Bible Church in February 2021. We were looking for a church that was reformed and that preached straight from the Bible. We also wanted a church that has a deep sense of community and was small enough that members were actually shepherded and discipled. We have found that and so much more here. The gospel good news of Jesus is regularly and faithfully preached. The Word is opened, read and taught from every week. The community is sincere and genuine. Pastor Albert takes seriously his calling to shepherd the local body of believers that he has been entrusted. But don’t take my word for it, come and see. I visit Queen Creek Az frequently and it was so hard to find a Christian church that preaches the true, untwisted word of God. Pastor Albert nails it every time and has a way of preaching that truly honors God. The kids church is amazing and my boys love seeing their friends when we are in town. If you are looking for a new church, this is it!
