What visitors say
A friend and I heard about this church and decided to stop in for a Sunday service. As we pulled into the parking lot we got that Mega Church feel seeing the grounds and worship center. The large parking lots were being directed by attendants so finding parking was no problem. Neither of us had been to church for several years and didn’t know fully what to expect. Upon entry to the very busy lobby entrance I felt we got lost in the sea of parishioners, as we weren’t greeted by any staff or volunteers - they were present, just not enough to greet everyone or at least newcomers. There is a Cafe which was something I didn’t really expect in a place of worship, but it was nice to be able to grab a snack, coffee or smoothie before the service. Once it was time for the service we entered and were welcomed by a greeter and there were ushers guiding folks to vacant seating or away from blocked off areas, so it was orderly for the size of the congregation. There was nice live Contemporary Christian music being played as we arrived for the service. After the music finished a pastor came up onto the stage and commenced the service which happened to be on the book of Revelation. He turned the service over to another pastor who presented the sermon remotely (possibly prerecorded) as there are multiple CCV campuses around the valley. It was an enlightening and thoughtful take on the book of Revelation. Something curios about the service was that there was no tithe plates/baskets being passed around before, during or after the sermon (or if they were, they never made it to us). After the service we looked around a little closer at the other facilities which included an outdoor grill area outside of the Cafe and worship center, along with the Children’s Center and play area. The Children’s Center was well attended by staff and/or volunteers and there were plenty of children playing in the play area outside with other parents present as well. All in all it was a nice and lively service to attend, but it would have been nice to have been greeted at the entrance and welcomed to the church. Always felt welcomed here I got baptized here as well. Highly recommended to try out this church. I loved the parent room I used that the first few visits with my newborn and transitioned into the childcare . They have an amazing cafe and don't forget your free coffee for your first time visit So my husband and I had went to this church recently. On the outside we weren't greeted, especially by them that were out side greeters from a distance, rather other people, I am assuming continual comers were even though we were the new ones too. When we had gotten into the sanctuary it was loud, like way too loud. I didn't feel no holy Spirit here. People were just standing around like they were dead and in a trance. We didn't even feel welcomed. In fact the place had felt cold internally, and off, and like they were all about the money. I was invited to attend CCV by my eldest daughter to the downtown location over a few months ago on Buchanan Street. It is so welcoming and beautiful there. It is much further so I decided to come visit for the first time yesterday on Sunday 1/11/2026 to the North Vally Location. It’s only 4.9 miles from my home. It was a very nice service (I was a little late) but do plan on going back. I wasn’t really welcomed or given much notice to but then again I don’t go for all that attention or who’s doing what by looking for others faults. I attend to hear God word. Thank you for making my experience pleasant as I enjoyed the service (New year so beginning with Genesis the year of new beginnings) 🙏✝️✨ I thought this church was more accepting and with the times until a few years ago they had a “saved” gay man preach about how homosexuality is a sin. In this day and age?? To my disgust, the entire room was cheering and clapping this homophobic rhetoric on, that is not backed by scripture in the slightest by the way. I have never gone back to church since. Shame on you.
