I was genuinely drawn to this church from the start—something about it just spoke to me spiritually. When I reached out through social media, they responded with warmth and kindness, inviting me to attend a Sunday service. I showed up feeling a bit nervous, but the members I met were welcoming and kind, which made the experience all the more meaningful. The following week, I had plans to attend a young adult group I was truly excited about. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances changed everything—my mother suddenly became very ill, and I had to rush to California to be by her side. In the midst of receiving devastating news from doctors, my family and I were desperate for a miracle. I reached back out to VGC asking for prayers, simply hoping for support in a moment of deep need. To my heartbreak, my message was read but never acknowledged. I waited, hoping someone would respond with at least a few words of comfort or encouragement—but nothing came. That silence was painful. It made me question whether the sense of community I had initially felt was real. As someone who’s been cautious about stepping back into church life after four years of distance, this experience, sadly, reminded me why I had stepped away to begin with. It’s incredibly disheartening to feel dismissed in a moment when you’re most vulnerable. I still believe in the power of faith and community—but it’s clear this isn’t the space for me. I hope my experience can serve as a reminder of how deeply a simple act of compassion can impact someone’s journey. Great church! The people are so loving and kind. It was super sweet to be a guest and have people ready to help me get the kids checked in for a service for them. Worship was beautiful and Ps Darryl was amazing. He's so honest and transparent, he's relational and solid in his love for Jesus and his theological beliefs. An amazing place full of loving parishioners and leaders who give back to the community in a number of ways. I’ve been in church my whole life. When I’m here it feels like home. It’s real, it’s candid, it’s in your face, it’s humbling, it’s warming and most of all it’s bible based. Nothing said that isn’t back by multiple scriptures. There couldn’t be better leaders than Pastor and the First Lady of this church ❤️. Thanks for taking up handicap parking in front of a dialysis center and blocking the road directly in front making it difficult for people to get picked up and dropped off. Insanely selfish
