What visitors say

Did not find this church to be that welcoming. The majoriry of the members were 'White'..as a person of color, this didn't bother me but waa bothersome was the fact that only one or two members that came up to me after the service to greet me ...they were very rude and 'racist' .they immediately wanted to talk about what it meant from their perspective to be a 'Black' person, living in Arizona and the United States...nothing about welcoming me into the church as a fellow 'Christian '.yet my biological father was 'Native American'..so before this land was anyone else land, it belonged to the Native Americans..greetings would had been quite different, had a 'white' person ventured into a 'Black ' church...there would have been no talk about 'race'..but overwelhelming gratitude from the members for having taking the time to come out to visit ..to fellowship and worship...I attended another mostly all 'White' church in the Catalina Foothills/Oro Valley area and received a somewhat better welcoming..although noticeably only a few approached me to say 'hello'..'the validity/theology...base iof what it means to be a 'Christian' wanes in today society..guess that's why Jesus Christ never spoke about what it meant to be a Christian ..nor the structural aspects of a 'physical' church but his prevailing message was about how to 'love' one another ... I am happy to be a member of this faith and spiritual community. This is a welcoming and inclusive place where everyone is welcomed and loved. Pastors are very caring and personable. Their commentaries are on point! Always with a message of love, patience, acceptance, inclusion, and social justice. Kids are welcome!!!! They have a special time dedicated to our younger members, actually to kids of heart of all ages. Very involved with the community and with any organization that helps people in need. I am grateful and thankful to be a member of this awesome place that is helping me to rebuild my relationship with God, universe, higher power, Divine that is a crucial part of my life in recovery. I love this church! It’s a real family, people are encouraged to get involved in whatever moves you, from music to creation care to outreach ministries. They really practice an open, accepting, welcoming approach to faith. This intersection is being paved and extra time and care is necessary if you are traveling on River Road between Swan and Pontatoc ...There is no entry to Smiling Dog Ranch today because of the roadwork. A pilot car will guide you and the intersection at River and Swan has a long wait for the pilot car to guide cars through the paving area. Terrible at 3pm today ! A nice place to collect thoughts and reflect inward. The garden is a perfect place for prayer and gratitude.
