Attending Mass for the first time at St. Robert Bellarmine Church was more than just a new experience! It felt like stepping into a different rhythm of faith, one that invited reflection in a quieter, more intimate way. I came to accompany my niece, who regularly attends the Friday Mass, and from the moment we walked in, I could sense that this space held something meaningful for her. The service itself was different from what I’m accustomed to in a traditional Christian Service, yet there was something deeply grounding about that simplicity. It wasn’t crowded, and in fact, she was the only child present, but instead of feeling out of place, she stood out in the most beautiful way. Watching her follow along so naturally, understanding the priest, responding alongside the congregation… it filled me with a quiet sense of pride that’s hard to put into words. There’s something powerful about seeing faith through the eyes of a child, pure, attentive, and sincere. In that moment, it wasn’t about how different the Mass felt to me, but about the connection she had with it. She wasn’t just attending… she belonged there. What stayed with me the most wasn’t just the structure of the service, but the feeling of presence, of being part of something sacred, even in its simplicity. It reminded me that faith doesn’t always have to look the same to be meaningful. Sometimes, it’s in those unfamiliar spaces where we witness the most genuine expressions of devotion. I left that day not only grateful for the experience, but deeply moved by my niece’s example. It became less about my first time there, and more about witnessing a young soul so confidently rooted in her faith. And that, in itself, was a blessing. I've never been to this church. Im from Oxnard CA. I just wanted to express my love for Fr. Marco Ortiz. He was at Santa Clara Church in Oxnard for 6 years before relocating to Burbank. He is one of the best! You have a gem on your hands. Through his homilies, he made me re-establish my love and faith in the Catholic Church. I cant thank him enough and miss him very much. I would love to speak with him again and be able to attend a mass where he is leading. God bless you Fr. Marco, and God bless the Catholic Church. 🙏🏼 🤲🏼 I don't go often bit this is where I have been twice people friendly they greet new comers open heartily. Pastor greets everyone on the way out. Very family oriented It is a very nice church to visit. The choir sings beautifuly. I love to hear the Christmas Songs always in this holiday season. Definitely will come back again. Beautiful, clean, bright Church, friendly congregation. Fr. Marco, Dn. Reed, Denise Wilcox and St. Robert Bellarmine staff are very compassionate, caring, dignity and excellence! God bless St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Burbank!!!
