What visitors say
Oceanside URC is one of the most welcoming churches I have ever been to. This church was my introduction to any reformed church and I absolutely loved it. Duncan, and elder at this church, made sure me and my family were greeted, and he made us feel like family the second we met him. The preaching was biblical, the Gospel was proclaimed, and we sung songs straight from the Bible. As a visitor to the Southern California area anytime someone I know is in Carlsbad or Oceanside I always recommend they spend their sundays here. A wonderful, welcoming, and warm church. They seek first and foremost to glorify God, and show how to enjoy Him forever by grace through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus. I love this congregation so much. I was a visitor, and I was welcomed in not as an outsider, but as a brother in Christ. Their Biblical hospitality was matched by sound, and faithful teaching of God’s Word, unapologetically. I thank God that in a world marked by compromise, that God sustains congregations like this one to spread the Light to the world. My family attended Oceanside URC in the recent past—our second son was baptized here. This congregation is genuinely unique in that you will find solid scriptural preaching, hospitality, and a tight-knit community which takes the Lord's worship AND loving one another seriously. If you become a member here you WILL make friends who will look after you. You WILL have a pastor and elders who are regularly involved in caring for your family's spiritual welfare. You WILL break bread with your congregation every Sunday. You WILL experience historic protestant catholicity in word, sacrament, and worship. You WILL hear the Word preached faithfully and the Gospel clearly proclaimed. The Rev. Dr. Danny Hyde is a gem who is uniquely gifted as both a pastor and a scholar, which is a very rare combination to find in a local church today. If you are looking to grow in Christ you need to give this church your first visit. My church fam at Oceanside URC, where the gospel of our King is faithfully preached in love! Christ-centered teaching from the Scriptures, and worship of our Triune God in song and prayer, in word and sacrament. "In Him, we have redemption through His blood, and the forgiveness of our sins, all according to the riches of His grace" (Eph 1:7). We enjoy learning of and sharing in the richness of our historic Christian faith through the ages, and as confessed in the Three Forms of Unity. A warm, welcoming congregation, serving our merciful God; we look forward to meeting you soon! Oceanside United Reformed Church its an oasis in the mids of desert of shallow Christianity. It was an answer to our prayers for our family to find a solid Reformed and Confessional church. Committed to historicity of the church, confessing the catholic and ecumenical Creeds of Christianity (Nicene Creed, Athanasian Creed, Apostles creed ). We partake of the Lord's Supper every Lord's Day. Wonderful Church family, very hospitable. If you are seeking a faithful Gospel centered church, that takes the gospel and scripture seriously, you will be gladly welcome!
