What visitors say

Maturing is realizing this place is a cult guys! Because why is the pastor kinda weird? And they push the religion to extreme.. Like I've seen reviews of a people having weird experiences or this lady who got a flirtatious comment from pastor Clark! Gross? I know! Like talk about crazy. This is a church. They even believe females shouldn't work... And stay jobless! Gasppp, yeah. They will say weird comments to you most likely if you wear "too much makeup" Or "wearing shorts or pants" like this is where you worship God? Not where you care about what people are wearing. You may think these are the good guys but they aren't they have some drama too.. Like this is a church a place of God not a theatre class. Talk about embarrassing.. They try to force you perfect like crystal clear.. Well that's not happening.. Especially with this drama!!! And nobody's perfect. There's gonna be ups and downs obviously... Well whatever my point is don't go here if your not prepared for the weird pastor! I have truly enjoyed attending this Independent Baptist church. The preaching is biblical, direct, and rooted firmly in the Word of God. This is not a “feel-good” ministry, and that is exactly what I appreciate about it. The messages are Scripture-based and focused on conviction, repentance, and holy living rather than entertainment or emotional hype. Pastor Philip Clark is a faithful and bold preacher of the Bible. He does not water down the Word, and he does not shy away from difficult topics. The teaching is old-fashioned, biblical preaching that calls believers to examine themselves and grow spiritually. This church stands on biblical principles, including modesty, holiness, and separation from worldliness not as man-made rules, but as convictions that flow from understanding Scripture. When you know better, you do better. The preaching challenges you, and at times conviction can feel uncomfortable, but that is the purpose of God’s Word. It is meant to refine us and draw us closer to Him. If you are looking for a Bible-believing church that prioritizes truth over trend, Scripture over emotion, and conviction over comfort, this is a place where you will grow. I am thankful for the clear teaching and the commitment to standing firmly on the Word of God. Hi, I'm Nathan. I'm a Marine on Camp Pendleton and I have been going to West Coast Baptist Church for 2 years now. I remember looking at the Google Maps for this church and seeing that they had reviews but never bothered to read them. Today I read them. Before I started going to this church I was smoking, drinking, cursing, living for myself, living a life unpleasing to God. Growing up, My church back home didn't know the gospel well, but by the grace of God, I was saved at a young age. I believed on Jesus Christ and repented. I believed God's Word. But my church back home never told me anything about baptism, which comes after salvation or about discipleship(going through God's word with another saved person that's been living out the christian life), which ought to be done with every newly saved Christian. I had little to no spiritual growth until I actually started reading my bible in about 10th grade. Through God's Word, I realized I wasn't living according to God's Word (I was worldly) and that my church was not following the Bible. My pastor couldn't even answer some of my questions. Over time these realizations lead me to have a strong desire to leave my church; and I believe this was the pull of the Holy Spirit on my life to bring me closer to God and to a strong Bible believing Church. That lead me to start technical school, which lead me to join the USMC which lead me into alcohol, cussing, and smoking at times. I was receiving the chastisement of God because of those actions and would ask God, "why am I going through these things? Why is my life so miserable?" But God lead me to this church. I was walking on a Sunday morning already dressed and going somewhere( I forget where), and I see someone From my shop walking in nice clothes, church clothes, and I ask him where he's going. He tells me he's going to church. I say, oh, I'm looking for a church. Can I come with? and he Says, sure. And I went there and realized, this is where I need to be. This is where I can Grow. Then I joined the church. I got discipled by one of the men at the church. I learned in their Bible institute. I went soul winning(going out with the church and telling people about Jesus Christ) for the first time in my life, and didn't stop going. I can now give an answer for the faith I hold. I can now actually present the Gospel Jesus Christ to anyone who asks. I never really had a problem with alcohol or smoking growing up, but after I joined this church two years ago, I haven't touched alcohol or smoked since then. I've submitted to be a preacher and to start churches. We preach the whole Bible, we preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified, we preach repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. There are some negative comments here; and I wasn't at the church long enough to really know what was going on with those comments, but I hope that my short testimony can extinguish those fiery darts. God Bless. Take care. Great church that is faithful to the Word of God. The people are very friendly and caring. They preach the true gospel faithfully and boldly, worship God in spirit and in truth, and seek to live consistent Christian lives out of love for the resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ. If we lived in the area (instead of, as we currently were, visiting it) we would gladly be members of this church and serve the Lord there. Joline Solomon left a review a year ago. A rebuking review with details of her experience. Sadly this is not the 1st time this type of incident has happened. My mother experienced the same experience when her and my dad met with Wesley Clark, at the time. He ran his eyes from top to bottom and made similar comments. In my own personal experience also, the Gossip in Leadership was so bad I decided to leave. After I did the next Sunday the Pastor got up in Church and excommunicated me and asked the church members to have nothing to do with me. Cult is a fitting word for this place.
