Beautiful Church! Attended Ash Wednesday 5:30 PM service 2/18/26. St Thérèsa of Carmel is my patron saint and I have always wanted to see this parish I’ve heard so many wonderful things about!! Well they are all true! Rev Christopher Tozzi & Deacon John Fanelle noticed every single visitor! My husband with his walker, Deacon found us & reassured he would personally bring ashes & the Eucharist to him where he sat. The service was beautifully paced, engaging, and pews filled with song books & missiles to use in following along. The energy of the entire church was filled with love & happiness, it was one of the most moving experiences I have had in a long time. The way the pews circle the altar allows for a visual of Father, the readings, and homily to be seen easily, which is important to me!!! I highly recommend visiting St Thérèsa’s in Del Mar it is easy to find right off Interstate 5. I write my review to praise the architecture of this building. You can tell the design is very modern, but that doesn't mean it is barren. It has the perfect balance of ornament and simplicity. There are so many sources of natural light in this church, which improves the atmosphere greatly. I also think the seating arrangement is successful and I have a particular liking to the material chosen for the floor. The highlight must be the large windowed wall that overlooks the surrounding mountainscape. It is a small local church that manages to feel grandiose due to its impressive construction. Overall, 4/5. The architect for this site deserves huge applause! Grounds are unbelievable! The stone throughout, the altar backing up to the mountains, stained glass windows, everything about this church speaks peace and landscaping is a beautiful reflection of St Therese. Pastor's homily was touching. Very happy we came here while on vacation. It's such a beautiful church! The priest and the choir are awesome. The layout and the design of the church are beautiful! Visited this beautiful parish on the very day of the last of papal mass celebrations for our dearly departed Pope Francis. We were greeted by the most friendly usher, not sure of his name, that honored my family [wife,son,myself] in asking us to bring the gifts to the altar for the liturgy of the Eucharist. The father gave a beautiful Homily on the life Pope Francis. Overall it was a very welcoming experience that left a good impression on me and my family. I left the mass feeling renewed and at peace 🕊️
