This church is truly a blessing! It is filled with kind, humble and Christ centered people. Even though it’s a large church, it has an incredible sense of community where you really feel like you belong. The children’s program is phenomenal—biblically grounded, engaging, and full of love for the kids. The young adult community is equally vibrant, offering great fellowship, encouragement, and opportunities to grow together in Christ. Every sermon is deeply rooted in Scripture, and it’s clear Redeemer is a true Bible-preaching church that faithfully adheres to God’s Word. Pastor Paul is a gifted preacher and wise shepherd who leads with humility and vision. He is passionate about making disciples who make disciples, faithfully fulfilling the Great Commission. His stewardship of the church is both inspiring and encouraging. The community groups are a great way to meet people and there are plenty of welcome events and volunteer opportunities. My wife and I were plugged in quickly and soon hosted a community group. I am glad I found this church! Like every church (lowercase c) it has it's pluses and minuses but my experience was best when I first attended and had some young adult friendships from 2018-2019. Pastor Paul sermons are probably the best reason to keep going, along with the diversity and the modern style worship in a nice space. However, the biggest negatives of the church now are 2nd and 3rd services are totally crowded packed with parking challenging, and that the current "young adults" is very lacking on substance in terms of theological study and co-ed life maturity. As a 35 year old single male, I do feel I've had trouble connecting here and engaging faith in a meaningful way with people my life stage and the CG (community groups). We tried a few churches in San Diego and we found a real home here at Redeemer. The pastors are humble and inspiring. The congregation is friendly. It is multi generational, multi cultural and truly an inspiration. I highly recommend trying out this church. If you’re further east or south you could try our church plant Trinity, another wonderful group Great church, very inviting atmosphere, and great engaging speakers! They have a very contemporary worship environment with people of all backgrounds. I would highly recommend a visit to check it out. After many years reasons for leaving best summed up here. Look for people who are "real" about who they are, not trying to appear perfect. Those are trustworthy people, and God is on their side. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble James 4:6
