We really enjoyed attending mass here when we were in town for a graduation. It's a traditional Novus Ordo mass, some ladies were wearing mantillas, the church itself is pretty, and the singing was beautiful. We were actually there for a baccalaureate Mass and it was very nice! The bishop attended and I the there were 4 priests in all, and many young altar servers. ❤️ Then we attended a Spanish mass before we left for home (because our flight was on a Sunday) and we only understood a word here or there, haha. It was interesting but we participated as best we could. Great Catholic Church experience on Sunday* a little bit sad that the church doesn't join hands for the "Our Father Prayer" This is a beautiful church with a strong devotion to our blessed mother Mary. They have an enormous rosary suspended from their outdoor "overhang" and a lovely grotto devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe. While visiting Escondido, we went to their fish fry during Lent on a Friday evening and it was superb! We attended the Saturday evening 5 pm Vigil Mass the next day and I found it a very spiritual Mass. I was struck by the Holy Spirit while giving thanks after holy communion. The tears flowed copiously. I feel this is a very holy parish. I have attended this church my entire life. It is ever growing and has great qualities within the mass, the church it self I like. Yet It is missing a foundational heart. The people who attend mass seem to go in with open hearts and seeking the Lord. It just seems that the church organization it self is becoming less of the heart of our church. Admin at church has become over controlling and controlled to the point of making the church feel unwelcoming. There is clear Bias going on at this church and It only seems as though Father Scott and those working along side him are going to continue on with their own desires for the church rather than what the church needs. I have called the office multiple times to seek help and given almost 0 help and only asked for more money. Peace of Christ Jesus surrounds you here at Saint Mary Catholic Church! (Wednesday April 7, 2021) God would rather die than tell lie that He didn't love you! Be of good cheer - temporarily, God was dead! On the third day He did rise again indeed! He's alive! Atheists don't give you the complete thought! Pray for all who have never heard of God's Church, mistakenly believe wrongly about His Church, and have left the source and summit of authentic Christianity! It's One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic! Happy Easter!
