When we moved to Irvine, I wondered what God's plan was for my family. I am still finding my path and God's vision, but the church has become the light leading us closer to Jesus. This church is such a blessing Very unprofessional and unholy culture. After the service the pastor runs out to avoid talking to anyone and never stays to engage with the worshippers which is very different than the culture of shepherd grove years ago and definitely different than the Crystal cathedral. I attempted to speak to him and was intercepted by an employee to give him enough time to dash out as fast as he could. I tested this the following two weeks and got the same results. He also now has an assistant pastor who basically speaks for him. He only reads off of printed material in front of him, feels very inauthentic and quite frankly he looks like he’s forced to be there; his messy hair, the shorts, wrinkled clothing and untrimmed facial Hair definitely don’t help. People who are more like actors are brought in to fall on stage and lay face down and cry and scream and shout in the microphones; feels more like a bad acting performance rather than a place of worship, love and kindness. Fortunately Irvine and Newport have innumerable real pure churches, save your sanity and avoid this one. I watch Shepherd’s Grove Church on TV YouTube from Kentucky, and Bobby Schuller’s sermons are powerful, grounded, and incredibly meaningful (I use to watch his grandpa when he was preaching getting ready for our church in the morning). Bobby’s messages offer depth, emotional insight, and practical takeaways that genuinely help you grow and reflect, I always walk away having learned something. If I lived in California, I would absolutely attend in person. And love their worship music! This church has such a beautiful and thriving community! Their worship is so wonderful. We are so blessed by Pastor Bobby and his teaching! I watch The Hour of Power from Australia. Bobby's sermons are always educational, meaningful & inspiring. Hannah's Prayer Ministry is the backbone of this church's effectiveness 🙏✝️
