This church walks the walk, and can back it up theologically. If you're someone for whom the primary message of the gospel is lovingkindness (with no contrived ifs, ands, or buts!), and wants to see and participate in that wisdom's vindication by deeds, this is the place to be. They're such a deeply welcoming place that is so committed to social justice and fellowship, even amongst their theological peers. God is still speaking at IUCC, faith is made alive here!!! I wanted to share my experience with a progressive church I’ve been attending. I feel very welcomed and at home there, and my 12-year-old is already well-settled with the youth group. The church hosts many activities and events, so there is likely something that would fit your needs as well. I am particularly excited about the theater ministry. Pastor Sarah and Pastor Craig are very welcoming, and Pastor Rachel, who leads the Youth Ministry, brings a lot of energy and fun to the program. Very welcoming environment! I've been going for over a year now and I'm grateful that I found a church that doesn't judge people based on their sexuality. The Young Adults are very friendly! Very welcoming church. The service was very relatable to life events. The singer had amazing voice. The pastor had joy and passion in her sermon. We will be back. Do yourself a favor and come enjoy the warm welcome at this progressive, gay-friendly church in Irvine. The pastor is an energetic and creative young woman with a great track record on LGBT+ issues, racial diversity, climate change, pay equity, and workers’ rights. She has just introduced a new contemporary service at 11:15 on Sunday mornings that is upbeat and full of wonderful music. It’s a really special place!
