My 3 year old daughter and My 6 year old son attending their first Christmas performance at Calvary Chapel. Great school and staff. I love this church! I've been attending for roughly a month now and every Sunday I leave more motivated to love others. I look forward to plugging into a small group and getting to know the members on a more personal level. If you are looking for a church centered on loving others, and could use some exhortation..this is the place to start. Many Calvary Chapels have been the beacon of truth in this ev1l world, offering truly biblical, verse-by-verse teaching. CC Costa Mesa has been one bright one among the wolves! My son has attended the school since kindergarten… Since he’s a sophomore in high school, I’m going to let him finish it out. My daughter who is in kindergarten, will not be attending the school. They’ve made changes that I don’t particularly like which would affect her and intern me. They continue to close off entrances and exits everywhere, which just makes it harder (and more time waiting at unnecessary red lights, because the other Entrance exit that used to be closed at 6:30… Is open but they closed off the part to drive-through. Why?? Idk kids are dumb now? Four years it’s been fine… Just suddenly now… heating to wait at a light because there’s no way around. Can you tell I’m dealing with it as I’m writing this review? Because I am. And I’m so annoyed. Almost every day.) for parents to pick up their kids from their extracurricular activities. So overall, not worth paying thousands of dollars just for the inconvenience at this point. Otherwise, teachers are great! Solid and mature church with uncertain future. This was the HQ of the Calvary churches until the organization sadly split into 2 (Calvary Chapel Association and Calvary Chapel Global Network) over some differences. I couldn't find much details to the reasons. I just visited once because Pastor Brian Brodersen does excellent teaching through Back To Basics podcast. He is a truly gifted teacher like Chuck Swindoll. Following the split, the church is now only half full and seems many have deserted CCGN because only Brian's son, Char, helps out on teaching. I don't know what caused the split but I wish both sides would reconcile and find a common ground. Splitting of churches is giving into Satan's primary agenda. "I think" this location needs a spiritual revival among the congregation and a renewed focus and directions communicated by their leadership. I hope they will survive the messy breakup and get back to basics of being the Salt and Light of the community. I would like to ask all Christians to pray for reconciliation, healing and revival of all churches, including Calvary churches.
