My partner and I are so blessed to have found this beautiful church. We were immediately welcomed by the open minded and friendly congregation. I can truly say that all are welcomed here. If you are looking for a welcoming church with kind a kind hearted congregation I highly recommend you stop in one Sunday and listen to one of Father Mackenzie’s wonderful sermons and be sure to make time to stay for the hospitality hour after where you will meet a kind hearted and diverse group of people from all walks of life. I love this church! I truly appreciate this church and the congregation. Very friendly, and a community/ family vibe without the politics. Father Lester is fantastic, and the choir is incredible. Highly recommend! I find it very rare to have pleasant and welcoming/accepting experiences in church these days, but St. Mary’s was just that. With beautiful sermons by the delightful Father Mackenzie and hymns sung by the choir, it was lots of fun. The post service coffee was a plus, too! What a great and refreshing church and community. Father Lester Mackenzie is an energetic and enlightened preacher! We were happy to participate in mass today and to baptize our little ones here. St. Mary’s Laguna Beach is a wonderful church that accepts everyone without question or judgment. Our South African rector is changing the service a bit, encouraging us to join him in singing at times. Now, during the pandemic, we are having zoom services on Sundays at 9:30 and are enjoying them and connecting with our church family through them.
