I wrote the below review in July on Yelp and wanted to share here as well: I've been part of this church community for a little bit and have appreciated the warmth and spiritual grounding it provides. However, I'm deeply disheartened by the silence around the humanitarian crisis caused by recent ICE activity in the Los Angeles area. As people of faith, I believe we are called to stand with the vulnerable and speak truth in love--and right now, many of our neighbors are scared and suffering. I had hoped for acknowledgment, prayer, or support from leadership, but it feels like this issue has been overlooked. I share this not out of anger, but out of longing for a church that truly reflects the compassion of Christ in both word and action. I also wrote this review prior to seeing Pastor Carey's Instagram posts on the topic. To say I'm disheartened by the posts would be an understatement. If you're planning on visiting the church and want to gain understanding on where they stand on these issues, I encourage you to look at the pastors' posts and responses yourself. If you can't feel the Holy Spirit here during worship, you need to check your pulse. This place has an amazing anointing on it. Great message delivered by a very charismatic and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend with today's climate. If your looking for a church to call "Home" this is it!! My family is forever Changed by The Movement Church. From the moment you get out of your car your greeted with smiling faces and people who intentionally want to get to know you. Our kids love the kids program and look forward to church every weekend. My Husband and I have made some amazing friendships here and love ALL the powerful life changing messages from the Pastors. If you are looking for a great connection, a meaningful message and the opportunity to build authentic relationships with amazing people, The Movement Church is the right church! The pastors, Carey and Meghan, co-lead the church and bring a great message every week. For those that have kids, of any age from baby through high school, they have a wonderful kids ministry with great teachers and mentors. My kids look forward to going every week and have made great friends, something that we had searched for many years to find. We call The Movement Church home and truly value their mission to know the people that attend and to find the one and bring them closer to God. If you are looking for a church, come visit and try out The Movement Church OC! If you haven't been to church since COVID, are looking for a new church, or simply up for trying something out, give The Movement Church a shot this coming Saturday night at 5pm. 32382 Del Obispo St, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675 (It says Mountain View Church on the outside) you are in the right place. Movement Church hosts an amazing service at this location every Saturday night. After COVID-19 I was looking for a smaller and more personal church. I have been an active member of a couple mega churches in Orange County, CA over the past years. Each of them carried a great message but made it hard to feel connected to your church, pastors, and the message they bring. The Movement Church I now call home and it is for good reasons. Pastor Carey and Meghan are a husband & wife team co-leading the church. They make it clear their mission is to know the members of their church and you certainly feel like family when you walk in the doors.
