First Baptist Church San Luis Rey is a welcoming, warm church community with a growing ministry and a down-home, community church feel. The congregation is a blend of different cultural backgrounds but they are truly one in Christ. This church has recently experienced a revival, as Chris Flores became interim pastor, and has dazzled us with some of the finest expository preaching I have ever heard. There are lots of ways to serve in this growing ministry, from worship team, to children's ministry, to youth group (every Friday). Worship is a blend of traditional Baptist hymnity and contemporary praise, performed with fun and joy. This is truly a place to belong! A wonderful church, congregation, a great worship area great staff and a wonderful place to praise the Lord God Jesus Christ Amen. Come and be welcome. Praise him! He has blessed us! The church has had it's ups and downs but mostly downs. I grew up in this church and left years ago. I don't know what it's like now. But had gone from roughly 100+ people to a couple families when I left. I left because I felt it was time for a change and still pray it grows. Great Church! Great ministry! They Love Jesus, their church family, and make strangers feel like they're part of the family! Pastor Tate gives a great message. God is good.
