Which California Mission did you choose? If you know you know….A great place to visit, beautiful grounds, mission cemetery is peaceful, museum informative. During school days the parking lot is full of school buses. A great day trip. A must visit if you are in near Oceanside, California A very nice church with both an old mission and chapel. Both look very nice 😊 the sierra center is so big and is also nice! I’ve been coming here for years and appreciate it. My last visit was in October of 2016. My grandmother grew up in that mission and went to school there when she was a kid. Some of our family is buried there, and we are a part of the San Luis Rey Mission band of Natives. Some pretty cool history I learned from her and from visiting there! Wonderful place to tour! Beautiful for photography and history. The architecture is impressive and the grounds are so peaceful. You can walk around the gardens and cemetery and be alone with your thoughts. Enjoy the Spanish architecture and the desert landscape. Both are incredibly impressive. Go walk around & explore. Good place to just slow down & relax. Found a cool Koi & turtle pond & prayer Chapel on east side by the Parish & offices & school. Open to public & saw people bringing small kids to see fish, etc.
