What visitors say
NOCC has been my church home for the past 10 years, and I cannot think of going anywhere else. I love serving alongside my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ. We truly are a community that loves to serve The LORD and others. As a mother of three and family of six ,I am super grateful for the support the church offers with their weekly food banks .I do want to say that it took me alot to go and ask for help .I've always had to much pride to do it .But I did and am so thankful for everything they offer without asking for anything in return .I do want to say that there is one woman there that makes me feel uncomfortable and almost I am a burden to her .It is burning hot out,I am pregnant and I stood in the shade just as the others did in front of me but she asked me to move so I did and apologized as I was feeling faint due to the heat and waiting .Then I get inside the older Asian woman asks me how many people are in my family and what their ages are .I told her no problem and proceeded .The same woman that told me to stand in the sun then proceeds to keep staring at me and when I approach the counter where they hand out dairy and frozen items she hands me a couple of bags rather then letting me choose two items as they normally would .I then asked if they had any dairy (Milk, eggs, yogurt etc)She then asked how many are in my family I again told her even though I already said it when I entered and had not received any dairy items even though there was several on the counter behind her .I then ask if I may have one container of the guacamole she has behind her as there was 10 .She seemed really annoyed and said oh my lord there is some on the wall over there can't you see ?I said I'm sorry I didn't .Then hands me the guacamole.I then asked if there was any milk .She says no they didn't receive any this week .I said ok and left .I don't want to complain .I understand this is free and nothing is guaranteed.I also am very grateful but it just made me feel down and like I was a bother or maybe she thinks I don't need the help .Coming down here after being able to support myself my whole life so far and now struggling was a huge thing for me to accept I needed to do .I would never take more then what my family needs nor take from others.I just thought this needed to be said so that hopefully others don't feel the same way when they come looking for help and are made to feel like they are stealing or are a bother. But thank you to all the people that volunteer and make this possible you are truly God's warriors. Seems like this place will turn away anyone that they don't see fit to be there. Church is meant to be a place of gathering and love and I felt neither here. I moved here recently and loved to use my old church as a safe place to worship and skateboard when we weren't in service. Do not come here seeking comfort, safety, or family. They will turn you away. Instead of pushing your community away you should invite them in and make them feel welcome in your community. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" We moved to the area in 2021 and started church shopping. North Orange Christian Church was the first church we checked out. We wanted a church with solid bible teaching, worship that helped you draw closer to God, a good Life Group / Small Group program, a Children's ministry and a Youth ministry, and NOCC checked all the boxes. It felt like home immediately, and the people we met made us feel welcome. We never left. If you are looking for such a church, come check it out. You'll be blessed that you did. Went into the church office with a fellow brother in Christ to inquire about getting him some help. After he received a bag of groceries, we went over to a bench in front of the Chappell to pray, and I answered some of his questions regarding the sabbath. Less than 10 minutes after sitting there, Andrew, who helped us in the office, came out and told us we needed to leave immediately. When I asked why, he said there have been stabbings there, and the police don't want anyone hanging around. I told him we were fine that we trust in the Holy Spirit to protect us. Then he said it's the law and we have to leave! He couldn't tell me which penal code we were breaking, but to avoid confrontation, we left. It makes me wonder if God is working in this church when I experience actions such as this? Needless to say, I will not be returning to this church and I will tell everyone about my unbelievable encounter with one of many demons that do attend here!
