What visitors say
A magnificent church is situated in Old Town, San Diego. Its windows display a stunning depiction of the craftsmanship of the past, with the Vitroux. Sunlight filters through the biblical illustrations, creating a serene ambiance. The church’s roof is equally impressive. Visitors are welcome to explore the sanctuary, take their time in prayer, and immerse themselves in the beauty of the wooden saints. This is a beautiful church. It's not huge but it was nice to visit. It is located next to the Old Town San Diego historical part, so is partially educational. But it is also an active church. Nice church not to be racist I am not Catholic nor similar religion so I does not know anything about these stuff if I did anything wrong I am sorry. A beautiful church at the mouth of Old Town San Diego. Definitely worth a visit when in the area. The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Town San Diego is a stunning piece of history and faith. Completed in 1917, the church was built on the site of California’s first Catholic parish, which dates back to the late 18th century when Father Junípero Serra established the Mission San Diego de Alcalá nearby. The church is a beautiful example of Spanish Revival architecture, with its whitewashed walls, red-tiled roof, and an iconic bell tower that stands as a beacon of San Diego’s Catholic heritage. Inside, the church exudes a sense of peace and reverence, featuring stained-glass windows and intricate woodwork. As the spiritual heart of Old Town, it continues to serve as a place of worship and community gathering. It’s a quiet reminder of the city’s rich cultural and spiritual roots.
