This is a wonderful church. They believe in loving everyone. My daughter was transgender, and she would have been loved at this church. This is an affirming church. The pastor Jason is amazing and the congregation is very loving. Church starts at 9:30 and lasts about an hour. After church there is a coffee and snack time that is delightful. The church also has a bible study and book study for anyone that is interested. All are welcome. Over a twenty year period we were fortunate to have been able to attend a group meeting on Tuesday evenings at the United Church on Middlefield. Situated on a large piece of land overlooking the southwest quadrant of Petaluma. A sense of peace filled the air as we walked up to the church doors after the long rush hour drive from San Francisco. We would sit together in silence, after listening to a video our meditation teacher from Tomales, Eknath Easwaran. We were always joined by his widow Christine. There were about 35 of us regulars in the 2000’s, up until the pandemic. Of the many fond memories a sweet one is of listening to the birds through the open door. I’m sure that is still happening even though we don’t meet there anymore. I haven't been here for any actual church services, but I imagine they would be pretty inspiring, what with their magnificent hillside views and giant stained glass cross. I grew up with UCC. Great memories. Now that I am engaged, hopefully I will be married at UCC. My childhood church. A think about days past and those who are not longer with us.
