Pastor Hurman’s teachings are very entertaining and approachable. This is the kind of church you can bring people attending for their first time, including high school / college age. Service is 1:15 start to finish. I wish the music were longer (usually only 3 songs upfront) and the community updates / messages (after music, before teaching) were shorter. But it’s pretty efficient. People are diverse, kind. I grew up going to Grace Community in So Cal, and since 2012 had been going to Menlo Church, but I have found my home at NBCC now for 2 years. I attended NBCC after the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church (menlo.church) choir sang. Two of my choir buddies went with me. Now, I live in Arlington, VA, close to my son. Family is important. Be kind to all, because they're your larger family! Five stars for NBCC! 😃 Definitely would recommend. Pastor Herman is very inviting. Very compassionate. Very good service and brings every day life to Scripture. This is a great congregation! I Miss my Pastor Hurmon Hamilton. I wish I never moved from the bay. 🥹🥹🥹 I was helping in the children's ministry, I was doing so well spiritually. Now I just can't find a church where I can say its home. Its so 😔 sad. This church feels like home. The community is so warm and genuine (many church goers know that church people can be judgy—they’re not here). Also Pastor Hurmon preaches fantastic sermons! God’s love is definitely in this place.
