I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for a church, but my family left this church feeling deeply disappointed. We were excited to visit and drove over 30 minutes to attend. Before the service began, our infant son was quietly sitting with us and was not making any noise or causing any disruption. After arriving, not a single person greeted us or welcomed us. Instead, we were approached and told that our infant could not remain in the sanctuary. The woman who approached us did not ask our names or introduce herself; she simply informed us that our baby had to leave. As first-time visitors, this experience was disheartening. We ultimately left and attended another church that welcomes families of all ages into worship. Our baby loves being part of worship, and we believe children deserve the opportunity to witness the body of Christ worshiping together across generations. In all our years of attending churches, we have never encountered a policy like this. We found it concerning and not reflective of the welcoming spirit we were hoping to find in a church community. If you are looking for a church that embraces young children and welcomes families with open arms, unfortunately, this was not our experience here. Best church I've ever been to ! I'm so glad a friend invited me here!! The message is absolutely fantastic every time! What a beautiful and comfortable, welcoming and warm environment to learn and worship! The worship team is absolutely fantastic! I enjoy being outside in the patio area listening to the message ,enjoying the beauty of the green hills, and singing birds that surround us, while I'm sipping coffees or ice water provided and watching our fantastic pastor up on the outdoor screen sharing yet another awesome message. Our Pastor John Randall is on fire for the Lord with an incredible love for teaching God's truths in a wonderful way and always spot on! Never boring always something new going on to look forward to. Come have a beautiful Christ centered, Joy filled morning with us! You'll be so glad you did! This Church is disgusting and evil. They gave my son medication without my approval during VBS. And when I called to question them why, the staff was very rude, vague, cut me off and never answered my questions or returned phone calls. Beware of letting your precious babies be alone with these people! We partnered with this church for a True Girl event and everything and everyone was so very helpful and amazing! So blessed. Been My Church Home for Over a Year—Couldn't Be Happier I've been attending Calvary South OC for over a year now and it's been incredible for my walk with God. Pastor John teaches straight from the Bible using expository preaching—basically going through books of the Bible verse by verse so you get the full context and deeper understanding of Scripture. What I really appreciate about Pastor John is how genuine and approachable he is. No celebrity pastor vibes here—he's actually plugged into his congregation and easy to talk to. His Daily Walk videos, Tuesday men's group (they have women's options too), and Wednesday services give you solid biblical teaching throughout the week. Pastor John has this ability to make Scripture easy to understand and apply to real life. He keeps things relevant, throws in some humor, and never waters down God's Word. Whether you're brand new to faith or have been walking with Christ for years, his teaching meets you right where you are. If you're looking for a church with solid biblical teaching, real community, and a pastor who actually cares about his people, I can't recommend Calvary South OC enough. It's been a blessing to be part of this church.
