What visitors say

From the moment we walked through the doors as a new-to-the-West-coast military family, we felt right at home! Sound Biblical teaching and preaching that is down-to-earth, immediately applicable, and actively lived out by the Pastor and church members. If you are looking to grow in your walk with Jesus alongside a loving and encouraging group of people, this is the church for you! We’ve been attending Anchor Baptist for 5 years now!! Preaching is straight from the Bible with great application for today. Smaller ministry but has a family atmosphere. There are ministries for kids, teenagers, men, women. Highly recommend!!! So I served in the USAF with Pastor David Cajiuat and years later, we reconnected although I was living in VA and he was in CA. I have had the blessing to know this man of God who has a servant’s heart for over 3 decades now. Last year, I spent Thanksgiving with both his blood family as well as spiritual family and wow, what a blessing . I attend a church to be connected to the body of Christ and that’s exactly what Anchor Baptist is. I felt welcomed and part of their spiritual family while there. Now that I am down in Texas, I still keep close touch with Pastor Cajiuat and his family. They do more than preach the Bible…they LIVE the Bible! I wish more than 5 stars was an option. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of Anchor Baptist Church long before it was Anchor Baptist Church, since its inception as Metro Baptist Church. Although my start with Anchor was in a service manner, I had always been blessed by their kindness to me. In the beginning it wasn't practical for me to attend services due to caring for family members and distance. After they moved from Rosecrans to Ronson Road, the trip was an easy one just off the 163. And, caring for family no longer became an issue when they went Home to be with the LORD. I have to say in all my years of going to church, I had never felt so welcomed, so loved, so included than when I started attending Anchor Baptist Church! Our family was made to feel like family. What a blessing it was to see Pastor David and his family show up at our son's baseball game! And, they didn't just come to one game, they came to many. And, the youth pastor (if I can call Jordan the youth pastor) had events and opportunities for our teenaged children to be engaged in fun and safe activities. The church family are all so kind and friendly from day one. There are no clicks or groups or the feeling that you don't belong when you attend Anchor Baptist Church. And, Pastor David sincerely respects his position as shepherd over God's flock, and doesn't take that position lightly. He is a SOLID study of God's Word and doesn't hem-haw around the Scriptures with simply 'feel good' messages. He brings the FULL Word of God to the pulpit. He challenges you in Sunday School to learn and memorize God's Word and plant it in your heart. He knows his flock and wants to know them really and personally, not just superficially on Sunday morning with a 'hello'. He is the same man Sunday through Saturday; he is not a Sunday show. Pastor David is committed to the community and serves as Chaplain on the SDPD. He has a heart for San Diego and the lost souls in the community. If you want a refreshing place to worship and grow in your faith, Anchor Baptist Church in San Diego is the best kept secret that shouldn't be a secret! I encourage you to check it out and be blessed. If you're not able to get out, but are on Facebook, they also have a livestream on Facebook as well. Wednesday night services can also be joined via Zoom with an email invitation. I love and miss my Anchor Baptist Church family since moving out of state, but am so thankful I still am able to be connected and involved. Thank you, Pastor David Cajiuat, for your faithful service! The weekly RU chapter meetings at Anchor Baptist are absolutely beneficial for anyone who is struggling with bad habits, destructive behavior and full blown addiction. The victory is found in Christ where we are "free indeed". If you are looking for help, hope and healing, the RU meeting is the place to be.
