Second Sunday holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I go for spiritual fuel, for good people, and for good music. Regardless of how my week has been, it’s a place where I can go and feel at peace and at home. I’m not one to typically feel comfortable in a church setting or any type of organized religion, but this community is really forward thinking, welcoming, and open minded. I am a recovering addict and have found a space to talk and connect with people who are willing to listen, encourage, keep me accountable and keep me in service. The music is killer and so is the coffee, during the week it’s a great space to meet or work on creative projects. I’m actually getting married here in September! A warm and inviting community. A refuge in a part of the city that can really use a place of peace....As I’m updating my review 2 years later, I can say even more confidently: This empathetic, loving group of people is a safe harbor. They pursue truth and love God & community in such inspiring, artful, thoughtful & emotionally intelligent ways. Second Sunday holds a special place in the flow of my life and the lives of many. It's a welcoming community that draws people of all walks of life and faith (or non-faith) backgrounds. I am blessed to be part of this community and look forward to each week that I'm able to attend in person. They did an amazing job pivoting to YouTube during Covid and still offer that remote option every Sunday at 5 pm. In person church is Sundays at 10 am at J & 11th. (New location) God has His hand on this incredible church. Every Sunday is a blessing that is filled with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The message and music are the best I have ever heard. Reaching out to the community and being Jesus’ hands/feet is a ongoing ministry and focus at Second Sunday. I love this church!
