As part of my pilgrimage to visit every Catholic church in San Diego County, I had the pleasure of attending Saint Rita's Sunday morning service. What a gem! Ample parking made arrival a breeze, and the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The community truly radiated kindness, and I even received a friendly invitation to their Thursday evening Alpha group. The service itself was uplifting and inspiring, leaving me with a renewed sense of peace. But the highlight came afterwards, when the church offered delicious donuts and coffee, fostering a delightful sense of connection among everyone present. Saint Rita's warm embrace and welcoming spirit truly stood out in my quest. If you're seeking a meaningful and enriching church experience in San Diego County, I highly recommend checking it out! On Sunday, June 19, 2022 St. Rita’s hosted a Juneteenth Mass with Cardinal Robert McElroy, Bishop John Dolan, Bishop Ramon Bejarano, Deacon Booth, Deacon Marvin Threatt, The Knights & Ladies Auxiliary of Peter Claver. Beautiful church good meaningful services. I, unfortunately, was attending my sister's funeral. She was killed in a car accident. I have family throughout San Diego. St Rita Catholic Church happened to be my sister's parish. The mass was beautiful we have family members who are Mariachis and they were allowed to sing a traditional Spanish Mass. The Church is large enough to allow the 6 ft. separation for preventing the spread of covid-19, which we all did. Everyone wore their face mask and for the most part everyone was respectful and considerate. My family have been parishioners of this church since 1988. A great church, we found a second family with. the church organization. Friendly people, no matter who you are, they welcome you with open arms. The Pastor and associate pastors are wonderful people, there are several choir groups.
