What visitors say

During my recent visit to Mission San Juan Capistrano, I was profoundly moved by the experience at Serra Chapel. As California's oldest church, this historic gem offers an intimate and serene atmosphere that invites reflection and spiritual connection. The chapel's interior is adorned with a stunning 400-year-old golden retablo, imported from Barcelona, Spain, which serves as a breathtaking focal point. The meticulous preservation of this artifact, along with the chapel's other historical elements, speaks volumes about the dedication to maintaining its historical integrity. It was a place that made me beautiful, reverent, and calm. Amen. Beautifully adorned with sculptures and religious artworks. It's the only existing structure that Saint Serra conducted mass. Beautiful! Recommend weekday mass at 6:30a. Special kind of Holy! Wonderful 6:30 am Mass ..in the morning the entrance to Serra Chapel is via East Gate - across from the corner of Spring and El Camino Real - maps has the pin in the wrong spot at the corner near the gift shop /main entrance - locked up tight at 6:30!
