What visitors say

This is a neighborhood church that reflects respect, peace, and care for the community. I would really appreciate it if group events could keep the volume down. Loud, prolonged music can be very disruptive to nearby residents. I respectfully ask church leadership to address this and be mindful of neighbors. We used to rent facilities to hold our Sunday services for Santa Clara, but with God's blessings, we were able to find this amazing place! Volunteers came and helped renovate the place especially during the pandemic and were so proud to call it our home! I love that there are rooms for the Children's Ministry now, and courtyards on both sides of the main church. There is even a snack bar?! Game room, etc. During weekdays, it is also used by the youth ministry, or campus or just a hub to grow and learn involving community events. I have a teenager and a middle schooler and both of them will frequent this place as they get older! We are excited to welcome anyone who comes to visit us here or get to know us as a family! I have been attending BACC over the last 5 weeks while attempting to discern if it was a church that I feel is empowered by the bible and intentional about serving God. Positives: The congregation are very warm to new comers. I was met with kindness and wasn't made to feel like an outsider. The church is focused on community support in a number of ways although it was a bit hard to find concrete information on the specific charities and who orchestrates them and the exact financials, I'm unsure how they proctor financial accountability with this system but I do have faith that information is somewhere. The church has a robust focus on empowering leaders of both genders, seeing a church that encourages female leadership and discipleship is rare and welcome. Cons: Exclusive theology- having an anti queer theology at this point is not only unfounded and illogical its just lazy. Relying on mistranslations and inherited homophobic theology would be surprising from a church that parades as progressive if it wasn't so insanely boring, Ungodly, and uneducated of a stance to hold. Anti-Semitism- Songs during the worship service use the term "Jews" as a slur, reducing an entire ethnic group to the actions of only a select few, and when asked why they choose to use this racist language a satisfying answer was nowhere to be found, and no commitment to change was made. The final straw however was when I attended the Men's "Locked in" event and the man giving the message, had the audacity to defend colonization with his whole chest, completely trivializing the horrors of the Native American Genocide and destruction of their culture because it meant "He got to be free in 2025." To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. We've been part of this church for many years and are fortunate to have met some of our closest friends here. The church focuses on the Bible, personal relationship with God, deep friendships, and doing good in the community. There's a wide age range, from young children to mature adults. It's awesome to have many other families with young children like ours. We love the new building! The building has been thoughtfully renovated and is bright, open, and inviting, with an awesome park next door. It's so refreshing getting together in person again and we're grateful for the children's classes that have resumed on Sundays! Went here for easter 2025 celebrations. Great place and organizers. Everyone was friendly but a lady that was on a table with easter eggs shouted at a group of parents whose kids grabbed eggs before they were supposed to. She asked the parents to teach their kids manners in a rough tone and they told their kids to return the eggs. I am sure this is inconsistent with the values of the church and this lady needs to be taught a thing or two about how kids get excited about things and how to do her job. It seemed that she did not like this specific group, but anyhow, this is the only bad experience. Or else, a welcoming place for all types of humans.
