Bel Air Church is one of those places that immediately makes an impression the moment you arrive, and it all starts with the views. Perched up in the hills, the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. No matter how many times I have been, the views never get old. They set such a calming, beautiful backdrop for the whole experience and really make it feel like a special place to spend your Sunday. From the moment you drive in, it is clear that the church has thought of every detail to make the experience smooth and welcoming. There is plenty of parking, which is such a relief compared to so many other spots in Los Angeles. They clearly go above and beyond to make sure parking is never an issue. The attendants are some of the friendliest people you will meet. They greet you with a smile, direct you clearly, and honestly set the tone for how warm and kind the entire environment is once you step inside. The hospitality continues as soon as you walk through the doors. On most Sundays you will find donuts, coffee, even popcorn, little touches that make it feel approachable, fun, and family-friendly. It is the type of detail that makes kids excited to come, while adults appreciate the sense of community it creates. And speaking of kids, Bel Air Church is truly great for families. There is always something happening for kids, and it is clear they are a priority. At the same time, I have often gone alone, and I can honestly say I have always felt completely comfortable. There is something about the environment that makes it feel safe, welcoming, and genuinely open to everyone, no matter what stage of life you are in or whether you know anyone else there. The music is another standout. Week after week, it is consistently excellent, some of the best I have seen in any church. The quality, the energy, and the way it is presented all come together to make worship feel meaningful and uplifting. It is powerful without being overwhelming, and it adds so much to the overall experience. Altogether, Bel Air Church creates a unique environment that combines stunning natural beauty with a true sense of community. Between the views, the music, the thoughtful hospitality, and the friendly people, it is a place that makes you want to come back. Whether you are going with your family, a group of friends, or completely on your own, you will feel at home here. For me, it has become one of those rare places that always leaves me feeling lighter, encouraged, and more connected than when I arrived. I have been attending Bel Air Church for years and beyond the amazing teaching by Dr. Drew Sams, I love that this church is intergenerational. Having members from different stages of life allows for different perspectives and insights for the growth of the church. There is a traditional 9am service, with full choir and organ, and contemporary services at 11am and 6pm with worship band. All are amazing, and I encourage you to check one out! If you're tired of "church shopping" and looking for a place to call home, we warmly welcome you! The church is in a beautiful site. It's a moderate Presbyterian Church with a few different service options. Maybe I'm old school, but I just wish people would come to church dressed a bit more appropriately.... instead of t-shirts, shorts, sneakers etc. Message delivery is good but I wouldn't say amazing. Anyhow come to church regardless. God bless everyone! Gorgeous place! Looked at this sanctuary for a possible wedding ceremony and was absolutely amazed. The church sits on a hill overlooking LA, a breathtaking view. Their wedding coordinator is very accommodating and gave us a tour of the place. The sanctuary seats over 1,000 people I believe and there’s a hall across the sanctuary. There’s also a school attached at the lower part of the church. Very clean and staff are welcoming. I’ve never attended a service, but I am sure it is lovely. I am honestly surprised by the number of negative reviews this church has received, many of which seem to come from people who misunderstand its purpose. A church’s role is to teach and emphasize Scripture and the moral teachings of Jesus Christ. It should not be expected to alter biblical truth to avoid offense. This church remains rooted in Scripture and clearly teaches biblical principles with love and conviction. I have never heard Pastor Drew speak hatefully or disrespectfully about any group of people. Instead, he focuses on Jesus Christ, moral accountability, and living according to God’s Word so that we may have eternal life. That clarity is rare and deeply needed today. Pastor Drew is one of the best pastors I have encountered because he teaches the Bible as it is written, without watering it down. Just as a teacher must understand a subject fully in order to teach it properly, a pastor must faithfully explain Scripture and its purpose for our lives. That is exactly what he does. Biblical passages such as Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26–27 are part of Scripture and are often referenced in discussions about morality. Teaching from the Bible does not equal hate…it reflects faithfulness to Christian doctrine. Those who disagree are free to attend churches that align more closely with their beliefs, but this church should not be attacked for remaining biblically grounded. I was baptized in 2023 and have personally experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit through this church. My faith has grown stronger, my heart has been transformed, and my walk with Christ has deepened. I do not judge or condemn anyone; I simply choose to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly and live according to His teachings. This is a wonderful church for those seeking truth, structure, and genuine biblical teaching.
