This place was absolutely incredible. The hospital is very clean. I got a private room. It's very well set up with equipment and honestly looked like a good movie about doctors. Everyone gave me so much warmth and attention, starting from the ER, then into the hospital and the staff that prepared me for the operation and the care after. I wrote several recommendation letters regarding the staff here. The doctors were amazing, very knowledgeable and willing to take a bit of time and talk to you. The nurses knew the smallest details of my information and passed information over to the next shift next day. Specifically wanted to mention Male Nurse - Neiman, thank you for your care and attention man! And you're so knowledgeable hope you'll be a doctor, to enrich lives of many patients! And Nurse Alexis , thank you for showing so much love towards your patients! Appreciate you guys! I felt very well taken care of and very safe. I give this place 10/10 , and staff 12/10 Much love, Alexey I have the unfortunate experience of having to come here often. All times being the emergency room. I’ve grown up coming here and I must say there kid department is much much better. The emergency room is a mess. I try to write this review from a place of understanding and actively studying the medical field. But the way things are handled are so poor it’s a disgrace to anyone in the medical field. Everyone has no sense of urgency or passion at all. This is the fast food of hospitals, a mear transaction. A formula. Quantity of quality. I’ve had many experiences where I’ve waited hours upon hours. To only be transferred to wait even more hours and more hours. The staff made it an agonizingly and miserably a slow experience. Again, no sense of urgency. I see staff, nurses, chatting before patients. I’ve had nurses who were about to draw blood for an exam. And before even drawing blood. She stood outside my room chatting with a nurse. A whole 5 minute conversation before getting on with my blood extraction. Again, after she finish, another conversation. Like please get the process at least started for crying out loud. Then maybe chat. I think a lot of staff choose to ignore, or simply forget the fact a lot of people are in pain. They come here because maybe this is the only option? Maybe this is their only turn for help. I hope some sort of upper management has some sort of reform. It honest sucks seeing so many people in pain being talked back to, stalled, and in endless waiting for them to do a half ass job with half ass results. This review is about nurse Eric Bell and the rude staff who needs an attitude adjustment. Because why are you rude to sick patients? I would never come back here, even though my insurance says this is the only hospital I can be admitted to. I have sickle cell, so that should tell you a lot. On June 20th, I was transferred from Kaiser Woodland Hills to this hospital. I was supposed to get a room immediately since I was being transferred from Kaiser‘s ER bed. Instead, I waited two hours in the hallway, even though I was having an active sickle cell pain crisis. I was placed in the hallway with other sick patients, which is known not to be appropriate for sickle cell patients because we are high risk and our immune system is non existent. I wasn’t even given a face mask. Not only did I wait in the hallway for two hours, but once Igot an ER bed, I waited three hours for a room (which I never got because I left). When I finally gor an ER bed, about 30 minutes to an hour later, I was given IV Dilaudid and fluids because that’s what sickle cell patients are supposed to receive, and that’s what I was given at Kaiser. They were supposed to give me IV antibiotics, but they never did. Three hours later, upon receiving the first IV Dilaudid, I asked for more Dilaudid because I was still in pain and still waiting to be admitted to a room, even though I was told I would be admitted immediately. My nurse (Eric Bell) told me that IV Dilaudid is administered every six hours, which is not true—it is every three hours. That’s why I asked about more Dilaudid on that third hour, even though I am used to nurses and doctors who know about sickle cell administering every one to two hours. I realized my nurse did not know about sickle cell because, before I asked for more Dilaudid, he asked me several questions about sickle cell and how it affects me. Even though he is African-American.. that should also tell you a lot about this hospital. I decided to call my husband and leave. When my husband arrived, he asked my nurse why he said every six hours for IV Dilaudid when it is actually every three hours, the nurse only kept repeating, “for IV Dilaudid it is every three hours.” When my husband asked how come when I asked, he said six hours then?, he just kept repeating, “for IV Dilaudid it is every three hours.” I asked to file a grievance, but even though they knew I was in constant pain, they made my husband and me wait at least 20 minutes just to tell us I had to file the grievance online or over the phone. I signed an AMA and left. If you have sickle cell, I would never in life come here. Not only did Eric Bell not know what he was doing, but all of the staff was very rude except for the doctor that I had Because she seemed to know about sickle cell. She said if I needed anything to ask her, and if I needed more medication to ask my nurse, and that is what I did and I was turned away. i’m very disappointed. We always used to go here as a child. But today I went in with a severe fever and a severe headache they Drew blood out two times. They did x-rays a took me back outside. I waited for four hours my head was hurting really bad. I told the lady in the waiting room is there anyway I could get medication or a cup of water She said no unfortunately that will have to be inside and we don’t know how long it’s going to take. Very disappointed. Very bad service. The lady was rude. Never gonna come back ever again to the hospital. I’m very disappointed. They took 5 days to insert a feeding to into my grandma's stomach!! She was 82. She's needed nutrients and that left of time without food was making her weaker and her organs will begin to fail. Then they inserted it and she was starting to feel better and then they said the tube was leaking and they took it out and she did not receive food for another 3 days. At that point she was very weak. And the doctors didn't seem to be helping at all. Some of the nurses don't even speak good English and can't explain what is going on when asked for details of the situation. After 2 weeks my grandma died. If I were you I WOULD NEVER BRING MY PARENT TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!!
