What visitors say

My family and I love this church! This church is for those that don’t know about God, new believers, and those who have been Christians for a long time! This church loves and cares for the community! They do chili cook offs, the back to school carnival for the whole city and we have made amazing friends! Pastor Matt is phenomenal and always gives a message that is current and relatable in every day life! Definitely check this church out! As a new and senior member of the community, I'd like to thank you for the warm welcome I received at Catalyst! The worship, Bible study and community service are shared and for all ages. Your words have encouraged me to introduce my friends to this church, and I intend to become more involved this year. Im from Woodland but had moved in 2013 to Stockton prior to my husband departing to heaven 8.21.23 weeks ago sold the home so I could come back to Woodland to be closer to my daughter and grandkids, rather than staying in Stockton. I was attending a church here and for some reason or another I ended up going back to Crossroads of the Valley in Stockton which I’ve loved and attended since 2013. This am about 3-4 ish am I was awaken with the thought of check out some churches in town. So I’m being obedient and doing just that. I’m as honest as can be so I’ll start by saying that ugh the welcome was not there, I came to the door the girl says good morning I responded with good morning but she didn’t say much else until I said I’m new here just checking out if this is where I belong, she was smiling and seemed sweet. I had to ask “where do I go“ so she gave me direction just go through that door and pointed. I passed Quiet a few people as I walked in and not one said a hello god bless or anything for that matter. I went in sat down and people all around not one person said a word. I then text my niece and said I think I’m going to leave I’m not feeling this lack of welcome it feels like I intruded in someone’s gathering. Then a couple walked in ugh I forgot her name I’m so sorry but he was tall named Lee. After a while another nice woman came and introduced herself again forgot the name I’m so sorry but her husband and her are the couple who stood to the side to be available for us if we want prayer. However; other than that the sermon and the way the Pastor delivered it was fantastic, I’m the type of daughter that loves to acknowledge when the word resonates so I do say things during the sermon like “that’s right, amen, thank you Jesus” and I feel the sermon was the Lord revealing to me that going back to the beginning Joshua 1:9 (paraphrased) do not be discouraged. To me is meaningful more so since my husband passed over. Today Joshua 2 revealed that no matter what we do or who we were prior to being saved and accepting the Lord as our Savior doesn’t matter for God can do anything in us through us and for us if we are wholeheartedly willing to do His will even in the midst of my pain and sorrow. I know for certain that I am Only here today because I’ve been clinging to Him because life without my love my best friend is not what I ever Expected in all reality I just Felt God brought us together and He’s taking us together. Well that may have been our plan not Gods. Also the worship was different then I’m used to but I loved it and MOST IMPORTANTLY I FELT THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. God is in this place regardless of the lack of welcome. If there is anything I can do to assist in this area please let me know. Thank you Lord for revealing so much in one sermon and worship. God is good and He never makes mistakes. Pastor Matt always delivers a great message that is relevant to real life. The entire team at Catalyst are welcoming. I just completed my first small group experience and it was great getting to learn more about the church and the people who attend. I love how this church cares about the community we live in. It took me a long time to find a church in Woodland that fit my family and spiritual needs. I am proud and could not be happier to call Catalyst my home church. I began my journey with Catalyst 5 years ago as a volunteer at the Back to School Carnival. The heart of this community was contagious. I began attending regularly shortly after and my connection with God grew immensely! I’m able to relate each service to my life and learn how God is with me even through the most difficult times. At Catalyst we spread God’s love through our Give Love initiative and Back to School Carnival. Those events and the welcoming community reassure me that I’m in the right place.
