What visitors say
This has been our "church home" for over two years. We felt welcomed and appreciated right from our very first visit. Pastor Scotty Vaughn (a former long-time member of the Flying W Wranglers) preaches inspiring, Scripture-based sermons. The praise team provides the good old traditional music, performed in Western style. The congregation are some of the kindest, friendliest people you will ever meet. The church offers Bible studies and Sunday school classes. The congregation are mostly older folks, but there are plenty of young adults and kids, too. The motto is "a place of grace and truth." That is a very accurate description of this wonderful church. Very sadly, this is the most unfriendly church I have ever attended. I am 78 years old. I fought tears the entire service, and cried when I got to my car after church. I have never felt so lonely, or so invisible…..in a church, or anywhere else. Not one person said Hi to me, not one person. I was very sad. I attended because I longed for the old hymns, and the possibility of making new friends, and becoming involved in the church. The music and sermon completely filled my heart and soul. However, the loneliness I felt while attending was overwhelming. Not one person greeted me when entering the church, or when I left. Not a single person acknowledged me in the sanctuary, not a single person. I felt invisible. I was raised in the Church of the Nazarene in San Diego, from the age of two weeks old. We went above, and beyond, to welcome and include every person who entered our doors. Our church was widely known for our friendliness. Because of that, countless thousands came to know our Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It’s common sense, and Christian like, to make people feel welcome, and that their life matters. To my dismay, I will not attend again…..but I pray your church will not lose more prospective members due to the coldness of the people 🙏✝️ This is a great church. People are very welcoming here. My children go to Sunday school and love it. This is a non denominational church. We are looking for a new church. We watched a video of last Sundays service. We can’t make it today but we will come next Sunday at 8:30 to check it out. God is good and we feel he is sending us to ROTR. Keep smiling! Pastor Scott is the best pastor I have ever met. He really cares for his flock and makes you feel at home. His wife Cindy is an absolute joy she greets everyone that coms8nto the church and has so much love in her heart. If you're looking for a church to feel at home with those is the place. The songs they sing are the best gospel songs and they encourage you to sing along with them.
