We are new to Colorado Springs and decided to try our granddaughters church. She participates in there youth group. Everyone was very welcoming and the worship was great. Lots of energy but not over the top. The sermon was actually a movie interjected with pastoral comments. This fit the movie theme they were presenting which obviously had a lot of time, love and effort exerted. It was quite a bit larger than what I’m used to but they still managed to make you feel noticed and comfortable. We are going to go again next Sunday. Praise the Lord! I went to visit this church on a night that they hosted a light meal and information to those who were interested in becoming new members. It was seen on a movie screen where they explained their method and success. We spent a few minutes talking to those at our table to get familiar with one another, and then the night was over Afterwards, I asked a couple questions like do you baptize in Jesus name? Do you baptize at all? Do you believe in the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues? Is your praise and worship active and encourage the congregation to join in. A lot of of these questions was met with confusion and I did not get clear answers. The people hosting the introduction night literally did not know anything about speaking in tongues, and they said that they would have to take my number and get back with me. To be honest, that put a little fear in my heart because Church should be more like a hospital than a business. This is where people go when they are sick when they don’t feel good when they need help. The Holy Ghost is a comforter, a helper, and those who worked in ministry in the church was unfamiliar with it. At least let me be fair and say those who attended this event. Also, I was a little discouraged because I put in information to join about seven different smaller groups. I said to myself just give it a chance get to know the people first get involved become community. Hang out with people who are like minor and share the same interest. And sadly all I can report is not one of them contacted me. Not a single group, or group leader reached out to me. And I filled out the paperwork to every group I was interested and included my phone number and email. I did not get one person to contact me. It was just not a good experience, and for myself that told me that this was not a church that I could join. I pray that everyone finds a church family. This look like a place that others were happy. And so maybe it can be your home as well. Just because it’s not a perfect fit for me does not mean it’s not everything you’ve always been looking for. Our family is so grateful for the Life.Church community - we’ve made life long, wonderful friendships through worship, LifeGroups and serving! Fantastic leadership at every level - I love that LC meets in multiple locations so we can share the weekly messages with our family who attend locations like Wichita and KC! Even across many states, this is a local Church filled with neighbors who love Jesus, you can be known and find life together! Blessed to have one church in multiple locations that I can attend when traveling. Always welcoming. Great atmosphere. Powerful worship and sermon. Love seeing people serving wholeheartedly. The only thing missing was having congregations reading scriptures together with their Bible on their hands. This is an amazing church with a non-formal atmosphere. Everybody is very welcoming and friendly, and everyone dress very casually (jeans/shorts depending on the time of year), you can truly come as you are. I don’t live in Colorado Springs but I attend every time I’m in the area. This is truly an amazing church with a great pastor and great leadership team. I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the Colorado Springs area.
