We felt so welcomed at the church and we are so excited to have found it! We were so impressed by the children's ministry and all of the activities and camps they offer. The sermon was wonderful and very inspirational and made us reflect and think. Everyone was so kind and welcomed us and were happy to chat and get to know us. While my perspectives are anecdotal and not diagnostic, it is concerning that Christian leaders would dismiss their worship pastor with a soulless narrative email template. I truly ponder the parallel between pastors and personality hires when the academic rigor of seminary is missing from pivotal leader’s resumes. If you are searching for something real, please be aware that the executive pastor claims that his “beard is real” as a captivating character defining characteristic displayed on the church website. I imagine Jesus to be quite different. I recently moved next door to this church and had been meaning to visit for a while, but honestly, I was nervous. I hadn’t been to church in quite some time, and walking into somewhere new can feel intimidating. I finally decided to attend a little over a month ago, and my first service ended up being the Christmas Eve service. I expected it to be crowded (and it definitely was!), so I figured I’d just slip in quietly and probably not meet anyone. But as soon as my daughter and I walked in, a kind woman came right up and greeted us. I had no idea who she was at first, but it turned out to be Kara, the hospitality director. The fact that someone from the team personally welcomed us made me feel so seen and important. Throughout the service, other staff members also came up just to say hello to my daughter and me. I don’t know if I looked brand new or what, but everyone was so intentional and genuinely warm. From day one, we felt truly welcomed here, and that meant more than I can put into words. I’m so glad we found this church, especially right next door. It already feels like home. So... I had disagreed with what the pastor had said regarding the end times; the leader, Wendy did too. I have documentation of this. Yet, when I invited her to join me in a Good Friday service she told me she was greeting and it was best I find another church. I had also signed up for a women's brunch and she was a leader but then informed me that I wouldn't be a good fit for this group since I disagreed with the pastor regarding end times. I called Kim, a pastor, at this church and she apologized for Wendy's comments to me and said I had every right to disagree with the pastor. She said she would follow up with Wendy. I heard nothing back so I sent her a message to see what disciplinary actions had been taken and this is the lame response I heard from Kim today. "I have spoken with Wendy about the many interactions and text messages that the two of you had together. I think we can leave it with the knowledge that you both have grown in the interactions you had with one another. Wendy is a valued leader and will remain leading her group. In ministry, sometimes people just don't get along for many different reasons. Usually, it is simple and just a different way of looking at the world and the different ideas and perspectives we bring to the table. The body of Christ is one body, and we hope and pray for a fresh start for you at your new church. Wendy and I spoke, and she is learning and growing from the interactions you all had and wishes you blessings and a bounty of peace from Christ our Lord and Savior." Blessings, Kimberly Parsons Family Life Pastor Thank God, I have found a church that actually lives out scripture along with treats others with the love of Christ. Wendy told me on two different occasions that I should find another church and that I wasn't a good fit for "her" women's brunch group. The fact that this "pastor" agreed with her says everything you need to know about this church. Do not go here. Such a great fun church! Went with my friend over our spring break trip and it was like a home away from home! Great values and phenomenal teaching! 10/10 would recommend!
