What visitors say

I have been a believer since I was 4 years old. I am now 58. For most of that time I believed in, had a “relationship” with a God who I believed I would never be good enough for, kind of the “whack a mole game” God where He was ready to whack me in the head as it were, when I consistently didn’t follow the game plan He set out in the Bible. God has led me through the loss of important people in my life to question that mind set, then with the birth and growth of my son, to help me understand what the father/child concept could look like. As a very faulty father, I am grateful to have a Father who is perfect, unlike me, dependable always, unlike me, strong and powerful always, unlike me, BUT, who understands me and doesn’t complain about not having a child specific guidebook on raising children because He is the guide. I write all of this as foundation to where New Life fits in. For the first time since Junior High/highschool, when I came to New Life (started at New Life Friday Night), I felt challenged to explore who God wanted me to understand Him to be without a preconceived set of preset parameters for God to fit in. I feel God challenging me to find ways (due to my irregular and overactive work schedule) to come back because of their challenge to learn to worship in new ways and their allowing God to present His message in new clear ways through them. I have been touched by the personable ways they are willing to communicate with the “common” worshipper. Is this a perfect church? No, but they allow themselves to use the heartaches and life lessons they encounter as warnings and life lessons so they will continually move to become His family in the ways He wants them to be. If you are looking for a perfect church, as soon as you walk in it will be imperfect. That being said, if you are looking for a place to learn what family relationship with God means from the Bible and how that will impact your life, IF you allow it to…..start your journey here…..as soon as possible!!! I expectantly look forward to spending time with the only Father I have left on this earth every time I enter the doors of one of the service options at New Life Church… because I feel safe to do that here. Praise and worship is excellent. Sermons are on point except for the attempted comedy during the messages. Definitely feel the Holy Spirit at work in the church at times. The church congregation is rather clicky, feels like high school. Other than the greeting of people during the service, most people stick to and only speak with the people they know. Almost looking through you to get to the one they know. It’s just not a welcoming church …. I’ve attended for years and literally still feel isolated in church. Thank God, He is all I need This place is absolutely unbelievable. I actually had to file a complaint with the city because the noise on Tuesday night was completely out of control. My kids couldn't even sleep, and for some context—we live several miles away and could still hear the music from inside our house. There is a difference between hosting an event and having absolutely no consideration for the surrounding community. If people living miles away are being kept awake, you've clearly gone way too far. Putting this review here so it is dated. We loved this church when it was lead by Brady. The children’s program is amazing, the worship was amazing and the preaching was humble and God inspired. Since he was kicked out by those he called friends, the worship continues to skew more and more towards full on Pentecostal, many guest speakers have been brought in to praise the new lead pastor and direct the church towards a what I see being a forced and man lead “revival”. The new lead pastor was already our least favorite of all the pastors available and is showy, uses God and crosses himself for humor. Changes the ending of “And all Gods people said:” from “Amen” to “Wow!” “Oh My Gosh!” and other phrases that don’t feel God honoring. He cries on cue at least 1 x on Friday and 2 x every Sunday, brags about his holiness, seems to have never made a lunch for his wife and we are thankful and look forward to any Sunday there is a guest speaker. We also know the guest speaker will have a few PR phrases like: “I love your pastor!” “You have such an amazing pastor!” “Your church is blessed to be lead by this pastor”, etc! It’s almost like it is written into the guest speaker contract: “Be sure to praise our lead pastor during your sermon and assure everyone about him.” This church is 0/2 on handling lead pastor transitions well. The first was a tough one, but the second one feels a lot more like a purposeful and spiteful betrayal of someone they all called friend and who thought they were friends. Only time will tell how the transition from lead pastor #3 to #4 will go. I am hopeful it will happen sooner rather than later. Good people who are severely misguided as to what Christianity is. This is all a performance and a show, every weekend. Keep the folks entertained and make sure they feel good about themselves. This is a concert venue with Christian semantics. I believe there are good people here as I said, but I don’t believe union with our God is found here. As with all “non denom” churches they make communion a mockery and a joke, they make the focus the music, they have a massive stage, the cross is in the corner, they have “worship” rock concerts, and it’s never about Christ. The sermons have more to do with the pastors stories than how we can seek union with the Lord. I never heard the topic of humility preached here a single time. That is the single most important trait of a Christian. God works in mysterious ways and I’m blessed to have gone here for a good amount of time when I was severely confused in my faith and diving back into it, but I couldn’t recommend it less if you are searching for a church. The people have pretense and are loving and welcoming only for show. There’s gossip, drama, and constant issues at this church. Their doctrine is flawed and missing the majority of the religion that Christ founded through the apostles. They also covered up some seriously questionable scandals and seemingly have no remorse, just coverups. Virtue signaling is their superpower. God bless you and all reading this, but please consider coming to visit Christ’s true Church (Orthodoxy) ☦️ at least read into the history and decide for yourself before you indulge in such a mockery of the faith at New Life “church”!
