This is a great church. Instead of sermons on random topics, they go through each book of the Bible, a few verses each week, and then they make it relevant to our modern lives. I've not seen a church do that before. The worship music is all live and they have some great singers. The building is beautiful, and the people are welcoming. Plus if you want to feel more "plugged in", there's an active men's group, lady's group and LGBTQ group that you can participate in. Always loved this church. They evidently no longer know who they are. Unless todays service was a fluke, I will never be back. This is such a beautiful church. The architecture, the stained glass windows... It is absolutely beautiful. Great walk but lots of closures on the streets recently due to contractions that seem to be never ending. The church has to put fencing around the building itself-which is a bummer; Realizing that many of our historical, cultural and religious places of worship are actually under threat from being completely TRASHED, due to lack of respect and possibly proper healthcare to those that walk the streets below. It's saddening. I pray that someday we find a way to make our streets safer, we take care of the space we all inhabit, and people start to Love Thy Neighbors otherwise. Great walk and beautiful church- all the while. Unfriendly to newcomers. Group leader excluded me from a decision for a needed hiatus that benefited the group, excluded me from the results, and only let me know when I asked half an hour before the cancelled session. Did not check up on me as work and recovery from cancer kept me from service and gatherings after the hiatus was over. My family and I have attended Denver Community Church off and on for about ten years, and we recently decided to return to see if it was still a good fit for us. Unfortunately, it no longer feels like the same church we once knew. In our experience, the messages seem to focus more on promoting certain viewpoints than on teaching directly from God’s word. This may work for some people, but it no longer aligns with what our family is looking for in a church.
