This church has changed my relationship with God and the Christian faith for the better. The people are genuinely interested in your story, the sermons are deeply moving, and the music is beautiful. Better yet, this church truly puts its money where its mouth is--besides being involved with organizations like Faith Family Hospitality, ISAAC, and Kids at Heart, they donated a large portion of their lot for affordable housing and Habitat for Humanity and L'Arche homes to be built. They have donated fresh produce from their community garden to the food bank for years. Questions are welcomed--they even encourage the youth to bring their hardest questions to a "stump the pastors" night. I've never seen a church create community quite like this, and because it is open and affirming, there is truly a place for everyone. Came back to update my review after a couple of years here! Heart of the Rockies is progressive, LGBTQ+ inclusive (open and affirming), and has great programs for kids including Sunday evening youth groups for kids from preschool to high school and a nursery during the service. My husband and I just had a baby and we can't imagine a better place to bring up our daughter where she feels loved by her community and by God. Our community has shown up for us by getting us everything we needed and bringing us meals when our baby girl showed up earlier than expected! We couldn't have done it without them. Our church really has heart for serving the community - particularly those facing housing and food insecurity, refugees, immigrants, and families. When the world is in turmoil, giving back to the community helps to renew my spirit. I also love singing in the choir and we have such thoughtfully chosen music by the amazing Ruth. A church that actually follows Jesus’ message, which at its core is to love and accept all people regardless of race, orientation, background, etc. I wish there were more out there like Heart of the Rockies. Generous, authentic, and welcoming congregation that deeply cares about their members and community. Thanks HRCC for giving younger folks like me a reason to still have faith in a church. This progressive church has some of the kindest and most supportive people attending it. This church is open and affirming of all ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. They host many activities throughout the year for children and youth. And perhaps the most exciting of all, this church is extremely active in the community. The pastors and the people within the congregation work with non-profits like "Kids at Heart", "Faith, Family, Hospitality", "Habitat for Humanity", "Isaac" and more to help people in Fort Collins. All questions are welcome here; you don't have to conform to a list of acceptable beliefs to be embraced. The kind, loving people will welcome you. The pastors are insightful and warm. Every chance I get, I attend here. I'm "married" to my own church, but HRCC is my mistress. 😂
