I love this place. Great church in downtown Gainesville. If you're new to Gainesville, near UF or downtown this is a great church to check out!! Chipper, Ryan, Jay & the crew are great folks. They are remodeling the building and it’s going to be an awesome facility when it completed. Everyone is very friendly and always makes you feel welcomed. Your church community becomes your family and this church does that perfectly. The Lead Pastor is very genuine and down-to-earth. If you ever need a community of followers of Jesus, this place will make you feel right at home! Completely Recommend! 5 stars! Nothing more needs to be said! My family and I began attending City last summer. Since that time we've become involved with small group, and a local outreach/service. I highly recommend this church for a number of reasons. Firstly, the people have a heart for this city and community, and they express it in very practical ways. The church actively engages with mercy and justice initiatives in the community, and its presence downtown is very intentional in order to be a place of refuge and hope. The Pastors are men of integrity and with deep knowledge and reverence of the Bible. There is clear and transparent governance, the voice of the congregation in decisions is welcomed, and the church body is invited in sharing their testimonies, using their talents, and supporting missions. A unique aspect of this church is weekly communion, which reminds us of the importance of this sacrament in remembering Christ's mission and love, and inviting others to participate. Amazing community of believers with wise, loving elders/pastors leading the sheep. On our first Sunday, and every time we've had people with us who are visiting for the first time, the lead pastor has come over to intentionally talk with us and actually want to get to know those who are new. We've found so many people on Sunday and in our community group who are extremely loving, caring, mature in their faith, and genuinely in love with the Lord. The church community also does an amazing job of looking for opportunities to get involved with loving downtown Gainesville, especially with those often marginalized or overlooked. May the Lord continue to use City Church for His glory! Being involved in a City Church has been such a great experience from the community to the gospel-centered teaching to the social events. I've enjoyed walking alongside the people during this past year and growing in understanding of Christ's love and sacrifice for us.
