This is the first and only church we attended since moving across the country. Someone my wife knew from her teen years invited us to attend when we were assembling a list of churches to visit. It was at top of our list and we gladly accepted. 4 years later and here we are. This Body is so welcoming and loving and Pastor Justin preaches amazing sermons! It is so refreshing to be in a church that actually opens God’s Word and teaches straight from it too. We have been blessed in so many ways by our brothers and sisters here! Pros: + Friendly, although misguided, congregation and leadership + Opportunities for discipleship + Good children's ministry + Rich worship music Cons: - Sermons are at least 50 minutes. Many people struggle to pay attention for this duration. The senior pastor has said that he himself sometimes forgets the previous Sunday’s sermon outline. - No real diversity in views. Every man who teaches has received his education/training from the church itself, The Master's Seminary, or The Expositors Seminary. - Calvinism is taught as a fact based on the misinterpretation of a few passages like Romans 9 and Ephesians 1, and despite heaps of scriptural evidence to the contrary (John 3:16, 1 Timothy 2:3-6, 2 Peter 3:9, etc.). Not only does this seriously impugn God’s character, but it can cause a bizarre attitude in people. They’re the “chosen ones.” I once heard someone enthusiastically say “God could have predestined me for Hell, and it would be for His glory.” - Dispensationalism and “Left Behind” rapture theology are taught as a fact. - Dating environment is complicated, bordering on dysfunctional. Singles and relationships must be approved by leadership. - Overall, I think it’s fair to say that this church flirts with the BITE Model of control. Grace Community Church is a Bible-believing church. Pastor Justin does an excellent job preaching the Bible verse by verse, also known as expository preaching. My family and I recently moved to this area, and the congregants have welcomed us with open arms. We feel at home. We feel loved and are very happy and grateful to God for having led us to this community of believers. At Grace Community Church, you will find a church that is filled with a deep love and fear of God that is joyful and beautiful. However, what truly sets Grace Community Church apart is their unwavering commitment to biblical truth. The preaching here is expository, focused solely on what the Bible teaches without relying on religiosity or man's opinion. This calls us to stay grounded in the teachings of Scripture and to continually grow in our faith. The people at Grace Community Church are what make it truly special. The love and fear of God is evident in every aspect of the church, from how members treat one another to the hospitality that is shown to visitors. The leadership models humility and genuine care, always making themselves available and approachable. My family and I have been at Grace Community Church for 15 years & we highly recommend Grace Community Church to anyone seeking a Christ-centered, biblical church that is dedicated to truth and love. Come and join us to grow in the word of God in a body of believers that seeks to serve and glorify Him above all. Very welcoming group of believers! Traditional/acoustic worship service. Very nice facility with good children's ministry. Notes on first visit: Definitely a particular perspective on the place of evangelism in the modern Christian life - message focused more on being a "stalwart defender of the Church" than a "Fisher of men". Signs/wonders are regarded as a misinterpretation of Scripture. Overall a great group of Christians and a great choice!
