What visitors say

Walking into Christ Covenant over a year ago was a breath of fresh air after a previous, horrible church experience where I almost walked away from the church completely! BUT GOD! He is so good & kind… and allowed me to find Christ Covenant, that lives out what they preach and has restored my faith that genuine, godly people exist 🙏🏼🙌🏼 I have so enjoyed the honesty, integrity, solid preaching, great community, biblical standards that are upheld, intentionality, accountability, potlucks, how they serve the city in so many different ways and more! The women’s gospel fellowship is such a sweet time of vulnerability, learning the Bible together, praying for each other & sharing God’s goodness with one another. The Tuesday Young Adults group has been a huge blessing and I love the time of worship, hearing messages from Thomas, as well as getting together w/friends before it! I love my small community group and how the people at Christ Covenant see your need right where you’re at and help you take the next best step for what you need! When the body of Christ is led by the Holy Spirit and they do what He is leading them to do, it is something beyond beautiful! Wherever you’re at in life, whatever you have been through and however old you are, there’s something for you at Christ Covenant and they’re more than happy to get you connected and help you grow closer in your relationship with the Lord OR introduce you to Him! I’m so grateful for them 🙏🏼🥹 I visited this church hoping for a genuine spiritual experience, but personally it didn’t connect with me. Some of the messaging felt closely tied to social and political viewpoints, and at times the approach toward newcomers felt a bit intrusive, with personal questions being asked early on, especially if you’re considering getting more involved as a member. In my opinion, the environment came across as very organized and business like, with a strong emphasis on presentation and growth. I also didn’t feel the warm sense of community I was hoping for, and several interactions came across a bit distant, which seemed similar to what a few other visitors have mentioned in their reviews. I left feeling more pressured than encouraged. Everyone has different preferences in a church setting, but if you’re looking for a more down to earth and faith centered atmosphere with a genuinely welcoming feel, I would recommend exploring a few other options to find the right fit for your spiritual journey. Word-rooted church with methodical teaching centered on Christ Few months before I left Athens after Grad school, I asked the church I attended for recommendations and Christ Covenant came up more than once. Also, I knew a very good friend, Jeremy Brooks who was a part of the church. I’m really glad I followed their recommendations because my family and I were able to find a Christ-centered community with so little hassle considering that we were moving from a college town to a city. I’m impressed by the drive, creativity and singleminded approach the church has adopted to see their members like me know the gospel and actively live it out in my community. Really glad to be a part of the body and their vision for the gospel in the city of Atlanta. Here’s the thing with this church: it’s not welcoming. And what I mean by that is simple. First, I had to open the door to enter it on Sunday. Second, no one greeted me or shook my hand when I walked in. Third, at no point at the beginning of the service did we stop to take a moment to greet those directly near us. It is a church and I know younger people are gravitating towards this church. Also, like younger people, they seem even worse at talking to total strangers.
