A wonderful group of people from Revolution church came to help me and my disabled son move. We never could have done it with their help. They loaded two 26 ft moving trucks for me and my son. Their family even brought donuts for everyone. We are no longer in Canton, but if we were, then this would the church I would want to attend. They are community service-oriented. The preacher is doing something very right with this congregation and I appreciate him. 🙏 I am not even sure how they found out I needed help and I am not sure they knew either. They were an absolute miracle from God!!! I asked them to pray for us and glad they did. We drove two defective trucks [one with no tail lights, we later found out, and one with Service Advanve Trac and a plethora of other lights lit up the dashboard, an immediate service issue]. Point being, we made it 4.5 hours to our destination safely, and I believe their prayers for us caused that to happen. They never complained and just kept saying they were there to serve us and glad they could help. It is worthy of mentioning that after they left us that evening, they went to serve food for some other people. Just wow! The world needs more people like this in it. Jennifer Rasmussen, Renato Giusto, and I forgot the other guy's name from Nicaragua. Bless all of you and your outreach ministries. Bible based non-denominational church. Phenomenal teaching and church family. Ample opportunities to become involved. The children's programs are top notch. Community outreach throughout our area. I want to begin by saying, that Pastor Jason is absolutely wonderful! His messages have been heartfelt, genuine, and often the highlight of my family’s week! For the first time, even my husband truly enjoyed going to church and that meant a lot to me! Unfortunately, my recent experience with the church’s music ministry has been deeply disappointing, to say the least! I auditioned with the sincere intention of serving through song, something I’ve done for many years in both church and school settings! But, I was told that I might be “better suited” to play an instrument instead of singing. The interaction felt dismissive and surprisingly elitist, especially from a church that preaches openness and community! It has become clear that this church functions more like a “mega church” in its approach, selective about who is allowed to participate, rather than welcoming volunteers who simply want to use their gifts to serve! That’s not what worship should be about! I say this with confidence and respect: I know the talent, and heart I bring when I sing, and I genuinely believe I could hold my own beside anyone currently performing on that stage! It’s unfortunate that the opportunity to serve was overshadowed by unnecessary gatekeeping! Because of this experience, my family and I will be moving on to a place that values sincerity and inclusivity over image! I wish the church well, but I hope they’ll reflect on how their process discourages people with a genuine desire to serve! I'm giving 3 stars only because the "church", as Pastor Jason will often preach on, "...is not a building, it's the people". Not everyone associated with Revolution was questionable. I've met some truly lovely people there over the years. But what it became, for myself & my family, the more we became involved serving & leading, left us running for the doors & we will never return. In fact, we have completely disassociated ourselves with all forms of "organized religion" because of our direct experiences with Rev & affiliated Rev persons. I first discovered Revolution church long before the building was built off Union Hill Rd, back when it was meeting inside the movie theater off Riverstone Pkway. Didn't stay long at the movie theater church, it felt disingenuous. Came back after Rev opened it's doors where it is today & it felt like "coming home". That feeling, sadly, didn't last long. There's just way too much to share here with what we have experienced but we finally had enough of the church hypocrisy by 2018. When you witness staff members leaving, en masse, that's a big red flag. When leadership runs quarterback for Pastor Jason like he's the walking Holy of Holies, that's a big red flag. When sermon after sermon is about tithing & sacrifical tithing...& then pastor wives solicit you at the same time to buy their MLM products & openly post across social media personal trip after trip after trip while we're being asked to sacrifice to tithe more is just wild. Are buying from their MLMs or their trips inherently "bad"? Absolutely not. But the timing was questionable & looked really bad. Several former staff have even told me about the constant lunch ordering/catering for office staff during the week & what was being spent on it. Doesn't sound like "sacrifical tithing" to me. Long time staff finally seen & heard enough that the proverbial exodus began. To be fair, there were good memories made at Rev over those years. It wasn't all bad. The worship music was good, the kids program was enjoyed, and to be honest, I personally enjoyed Pastor Jason's sermons. He's definitely got a gift. But after a while, when you step back, you'll start to really see what was going on & it just becomes too hard to swallow what's being preached vs what's actually happening behind the scenes. Really hard. When/if you choose to *officially* "join the church", you sign a contract "...giving the church the authority to speak into your life". Those exact words were flung at me one day after I'd been called to the carpet as a leader. Seems 'OK' up front just so long as you don't attempt to "speak into" leadership's choices. That's a big no-no. We initially questioned ourselves for our choice of leaving Rev, (& subsequently all forms of organized religion), too many times to count. I've personally spent the majority of my life IN church & doing all the "Christian" things. I even spoke "Christian-ese", fluently. 😉 But the more we were "in" the more we saw. One time Pastor Jason even preached on the very thing I'm doing now: "Who does a Google Review on a church?!" Folks that did so were mocked. Well, whatever. Mock away. We've seen, heard & experienced a lot over the years & cannot unsee or unexperience what we have and keep "pretending" every Sunday. Reached a point that we were no longer still in our soul with what we experienced. The more we served, the more we were known by the pastoral staff, we were familiars. And yet when we abruptly stopped attending, not one person contacted us to ask why. Not one. That spoke volumes. What I know is this: our personal experiences at Revolution church magnified church hypocrisy. Great sermons & good worship music don't make a "great church". The real church is what's going on when Sunday service ends. We saw it & it ultimately drove us to walk away from Revolution, & any other form of church or religion, in is entirety. For good. My personal spiritual walk continues but NOT within the confines of man-made walls lead by rampant church hypocrisy. I will not follow that type of leadership. Not anymore. Revolution Church is incredible! Pastor Jason’s messages are so genuine, powerful, and easy to connect with — you can tell he truly cares about people. Every week his words hit home and leave you encouraged. The worship is amazing too — full of energy and authenticity. It’s such an uplifting place to be!
