What visitors say
I was able to visit Resonate this morning (10:45 AM service) and was very happy to see a Biblically focused church (in the Decatur area, which is not easy) aimed at expository preaching and exegeting Scripture well. The head pastor didn't teach this morning, but Trey, one of the elders filled in. (I always appreciate lead pastors willing to allow others to stand behind the pulpit). This church loves to worship as well! I really loved the order of service, how you gave a moment between the initial worship and the announcements to turn around and meet some people, which did (hi to Seth and Sarah)! While I live too far from here to be involved in this community, which seems great, for anyone seeking a Gospel-centered church that is not twisting or rewriting Scripture to fit their feelings or their own narrative, I definitely recommend this as a solid church home. They desire to be disciples and impact their community for Jesus, while allowing the Gospel to change their hearts and not the other way around. And, while I have only visited once, anyone looking for a church home should visit multiple times to ensure it's the best fit for you and your family. Thank you Trey for a great service and I will keep Resonate in my prayers as you all continue to pursue Kingdom growth. Love you all! This church was filled with loving people. From the moment we walked through the doors we felt welcomed and seen. Our van broke down after service and they allowed us to hang out until our tow truck came...3 hours later...gave us snacks and engaged us. This was the church being the church. We are encouraged by how the Lord is moving here. Visited for Christmas Eve service. They had a family photo booth set up with some great pictures. The people were welcoming and the worship was glorifying. Difficult to get a read on the sermon because they did a reading of the story of Jesus (really all of redemptive history), but it was very kid-friendly as a result. They say they can't help people in Sundays but the people can give tides on Sunday and they say they mainly help refugees and give the people in the community 5 dollar dollar tree cards so you just getting three things a guy told me he give his donation for everyone not just a specific group We love this church. They love Jesus, love people and look out for the good of all!
