What visitors say

This church preaches prosperity gospel which is a foundational component of a cult mindset that ultimately results in victim blaming when a member is faced with adversity. “If you serve God, you will be blessed and people whose lives are turned upside down are following themselves” is false teaching. This cultivates a reward and punishment system that replaces God’s grace. Apostle Paul proves this when he states that he begged God to remove the “thorn in his flesh” three times - to no avail. 2 Corinthians 12:9 states, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” We don’t need His strength if serving Him resulted in a life of “ease”. “Jesus suffered so we don’t have to” is a manipulation of the Word of God. John 16:22, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Our purpose is not to strive for a life of “ease”. We grow through our trials and tribulations. Many evil people are successful and “blessed”. We see this every day. Oftentimes, prosperity gospel teaches that wealth is indicative of a servant of God. This also goes against scripture: Mark 10:25: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:21 “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Be careful that certain members of the church aren’t lifted up as “examples” to follow when only Jesus should be lifted up as the example to follow. This can be subtle or not so subtle worship of others which manifests in constant praise of those who serve. It’s weird. This Church teaches the fundamental basics of living a moral and Godly life. Our new Pastor has a heart of lion and such a heart for the youth. I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing local body. Praise the Lord for He is Good, His mercy endures forever. They have watermelon, real fruit and donuts and cookies every Sunday not just junk food you're allowed to eat in the chapel. Just use your manners by chewing with mouths closed. We felt like family the first time we walked in the door. That was 15 years ago. Our children love the youth services and have personal relationships with their mentors. There are so many great small groups to plug into and our pastor gives sermons straight outta scripture. The Saturday foodbank is awesome and we love the community around us to the best of our ability. Thanks for showing us what living out our faith looks like and encouraging us to have a relationship with our Savior instead of just being religious about following rules and preferences. I came to this church as a visitor from out of town. I was welcomed and was encouraged by the message the pastor shared. I liked that it was a friendly atmosphere. They were not pretentious and gladly opened their doors to a newcomer. I hope to be able to come again sometime soon. I also appreciated that no one was pressured to give tithes or offerings unless they felt they should do so. I like their focus on fellowship.
