Lakewood Chapel in Arlington Heights is a place for hope and encouragement. Pastor John and Sue have created such a welcoming place for everyone from every walk of life. Whether you are hurting or on the mountaintop, you can find the Lord at Lakewood! It takes all types of I’ve been a member of this church going on 10 years whoever wrote the review about racism at this church possibly could’ve been hung over could’ve been under the influence, but they are definitely delusional, but that’s your opinion. John Pastor John and Sue are two of the nicest people you could ever meet, warm, friendly comforting, not a mean bone or racist bone in their body. My mother and father have both passed and more and nursing homes and they visited both my parents while they were in their nursing home before they passed on a regular basis that’s who they are not only for me but for other people of the church as well great family and John delivers a great message every Sunday This is a very loving church with great people who attend and lead it. The services are unique and special every week, especially the emphasis on the power of prayer offered each week at the alter. You always leave with a good takeaway from the worship and sermon. Plus, after service the free lunch afterwards is a great avenue for fellowship and to meet others. Lakewood Chapel is a great place to call home if you're in the Chicagoland area or suburbs. Not sure how this place was reviewed negatively by those few Google "guides". Perhaps they are non-believers, which I respect. But why the negative review? One guy says "really sketchy"...what does that mean? Did he even attend a service? Look... My wife is Muslim. I am Christian. She would accompany me to the services, and she loved them. She loved the family atmosphere. She enjoyed the music. She respects my faith (as I do hers) because of places like Lakewood. There are no ulterior motives here...John and family just want to teach the Word. Now that I'm back in the area, I will be attending again. I'm looking forward to it. This is a great place. Great church on a rainy day, Met 2 nice men Doug & James who greeted me "Welcome to church" They had several umbrellas for the women in the parking lot. nice music. Good bible based message. Good time. Nice family had free lunch it was a 5 star 4 coarse meal. YES i will return. Thank you Sue and John.
