What visitors say

I have never felt as immediately welcomed as I did at this church. I wish I was here longer because the services are touching and truly moving. Been a part of this church since 2016. The church has changed a lot but God’s been good throughout all this time. Great community of believers that want to grow their faith. Most of the church is young working professionals given the location downtown, but all are welcome :) I may be partial, but I love the community. Also personally a fan of the Heal, Grow, Go vision, and appreciate the pastors and elders working through biblically based concepts. Our family was glad to find a church near our hotel in the Loop with live worship and Biblical preaching. We were blessed by the sermon and the fellowship with other believers. Note: you'll need to check the website and stay up to date on meeting locations, as the address on Google Maps appears old. Overall I thought the community aspect was done well. It is also one of the few asian churches accessible to people in the city. The crowd is mainly young adults and a huge influx of students from the nearbye medical school. So for the reason I deducted two stars: -I thought the main pastor had some interesting takes in his sermons that might be a little controversial and was very scattered/hard to figure out the main points. So it was hard to follow along on Sundays and left me with more questions than takeaways from the message. -Also, when I asked to call to discuss my questions on the message because I was unable to make it to church the next few weeks, the pastor told me to come to church and we can set up a call. Which defeated the purpose of why I was asking for a call. Just lack of appropriate response to their members when they were questioning the teaching. I personally felt that there was an overall position on making us see what they wanted to see and not backing up most of what they said with biblical or historical reference in the sermons and also in messages. This led me to believe that a lot of the messages were not biblically backed and were based on their assumptions and own cultural biases. Some of the sermons were also pretty generic and had lackluster messages/didnt teach me something new. I would only go back for the fun social aspect. They also did a good job of engaging with the community in regards to volunteer opp at the food pantry. Take my review as u will. My personal opinion/experience will not be the same as the next person..Some ppl have a good time there but I just wanted to put a candid review of my own experience.
