This is not just a church; it’s a community rooted in love, inclusivity, and purpose, embodying the best of what faith can be. From the moment I entered, I felt an undeniable sense of belonging. The congregation is vibrant and diverse, with people of all walks of life coming together to worship, support one another, and serve the greater good. The leadership at St. Pauls is inspiring, fostering a culture of acceptance and spiritual growth. And thanks you GOD for its creation. If you want a church where everyone is truly welcome, and you don't have to check your doubts at the door, St. Pauls is a great choice. The preaching is excellent: open-minded, thought-provoking, often funny in that life-well-observed way...and blessedly concise. The music is terrific: a classical-music-focused choir, frequent orchestral accompaniment, and a jazz trio every week.The children's program is thriving, and the community outreach is a sincere, long-term commitment (this was one of the founding churches of Lincoln Park Community Services, and also started what is not one of Chicago's largest child and family service non-profits, UCAN). While we are surrounded by churches and have not lived in the city for 20 years, we continue to be members and regular attendees of St. Paul’s. Where can I start? The open and accepting atmosphere, exceptional clergy, music and programming, and the strong sense of community and commitment to Chicago. We love St. Paul’s! Community Engagement Partners (CEP) occurs every Sunday from 14:00-18:00 at St Paul's. Anyone wishing to enjoy a hot meal, get some respite from the elements, enjoy good conversation, do laundry, take a shower, or access #homeless services should definitely check this place out. I typically run the laundry room and would love to see you and help network you with some of our services.
