Great spot for ppl who want to sell things to set up show. I use to set up in front of here and sell my crystal healing jewelry. I plan to start going back out here to sell my art. United Church of Hyde Park. While living in Kenwood I visited this wonderful church a number of times. It hosted many programs and performances for the community. The church, built in 1889, was designed by architect Gregory Vigeant. Interior renovation was done in 1924 by architect Charles D. Faulkner. The mulitcolored windows are very early examples of impressionist church art. This church edifice is the oldest extant church in Hyde Park. Most wonderful church in the world. It was a Memorial Service. The outside of the church is not safe. A vendor named mitts pulled a knife out and threatened to kill someone. Update: I met with the pastor last week. She couldn't care less ... This church is not only the oldest in hydempark, but also the worst. This block is not safe for locals.
