Great pastor. Great church. Truly serving the city. And sermons are like a Bible study. If you would like to learn scripture, you will like it here. The pastor takes time to study. He gives you history as well as helping you with understanding God’s word. A rare find. I encountered this church this week. They are a newly planted church. They are focused on serving and loving their local communities in Fells Point. The staff have committed their life to serving Christ. It is infectious to even be around this church, even if you aren't Christian. Their heart for the city of Baltimore is refreshing and encouraging. While it can easy to stay in a bubble and accept things the way they are, this church is dedicated to seeing positive change in this city. Haven City church is committed to a multi cultural and economically diverse church. So don't expect comfortable Christianity. Expect to be challenged about what the Gospel actually teaches, and what it means to follow Christ. Highly recommend this church for anyone, no matter what their faith background is. Just to see what active Christianity looks like. This is a church is led by a pastor who is passionate about Christ and genuinely cares about his congregation. The members of this church are welcoming, know each other's names, and make great conversation. Unlike most churches, this church genuinely represents a true cross-section of Baltimore City. There who attend come from ALL walks of life. This church is for the long-term Christian, the new believer, and the curious. I would highly recommend this church. I had been searching for a Church since becoming born again. My husband came across this Church one night and we started our investigation. We didn't want to join just any church. The statement of faith lined up with our beliefs and they looked like they were really trying to be apart of the community. After my first visit, my husband and I, fell in love with the Church. The sermons and community we have joined has helped us grow in our relationship with God. The staff is very welcoming and while everyone is open and loving, its not overwhelming. The worship leader on the piano is amazing, I think one day he will be playing in front of huge theaters! Come this Sunday! God bless and guide you! Amazing new church in Fells Point! Pastor Josh and the rest of the leadership are warm and inviting. Its a small church that feels like Baltimore. They do outreach in Douglass homes and run the Compassion Center on Eastern Ave. Even though its a small Church its growing and active in the community. The breakfast in before Church Service is awesome, so come hungry.
