Today was wonderful. Psalm 33 was read, my favorite Gen 12 was read and even the mention of the stead fast love of the LORD was mentioned today. (It's in laminations 3:22 and,23 . Beautiful service today. Love this beautiful church. We meet here for support groups and its got a great atmosphere Nice church. I came here because a friend who's in the choir had a concert and I came to support her Very nice architecture and choir. However, I went on Christmas eve and the sermon was politically oriented. It seemed inappropriate for a pastor to use the majority of the Christmas eve sermon to express her personal political beliefs, slightly disguising them in analogies and metaphors ; perhaps the Christmas sermon should be more about the birth of Christ but that is up to the church leadership to decide. My family went to a another Sunday service recently and they said it was the same regarding the pastor thinking it was a the right place to express her personal political beliefs. I can tell the pastor is a good lady and has good intentions, but I think the reason the attendance is so very low can only be attributed to her using of the chancel as a stage to share her political passion. There is no other reason a church this beautiful and historic should be so empty on Sundays. Otherwise, the singing was very nice, the service was well structured, and the building is always nice to revisit. I wish them all the best and hope this church can rebound, it is definitely possible. Love church for over 40 yrs i have been blessed by the guidance of this church and it’s radical hospitality!
